    Abstract: Implementation of a patient display in ophthalmic procedures, such as diagnostics and surgery, is disclosed herein. In an exemplary aspect, the present disclosure may be directed to an ophthalmic system. The ophthalmic system may include a patient display, a medical device, a memory, and a processor. The memory may be configured to store one or more video files that include information for a patient relating to the medical device. The processor may be configured to execute instructions to perform the following steps: receive input from an operator of a selection of at least one of the one or more video files; and display the selected at least one of the one or more video files on the patient display.

    Abstract: In certain embodiments, a binocular system for entering commands includes a computer and a binocular eyepiece. The computer generates a virtual graphical user interface (GUI) with one or more graphical elements, where each graphical element corresponds to a command. The binocular eyepiece includes of eyepieces. Each eyepiece has an optical path that directs an image of an object towards a corresponding eye of a pair of eyes. The optical path of at least one eyepiece directs the virtual GUI towards the corresponding eye. At least one eyepiece is associated with an eye-tracker that tracks movement of the corresponding eye relative to the virtual GUI to yield a tracked eye. The computer interprets movement of the tracked eye relative to the virtual GUI as an interaction with a selected graphical element, and initiates the command corresponding to the selected graphical element.

    Abstract: In certain embodiments, an eye-tracking system for entering commands includes a computer, a pair of three-dimensional glasses, and a display. The computer generates a three-dimensional graphical user interface with graphical elements, where each graphical element corresponds to a command. The pair of three-dimensional glasses directs the three-dimensional graphical user interface towards a pair of eyes of a user. The display displays the graphical elements to the user. The display includes light-emitting diodes configured to illuminate the pair of eyes and a camera configured to track movement of the pair of eyes relative to the three-dimensional graphical user interface to yield a pair of tracked eyes. The computer interprets a movement of the pair of tracked eyes relative to the three-dimensional graphical user interface as an interaction with a selected graphical element, and initiates the command corresponding to the selected graphical element.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a system that may receive an identification of a first patient; may receive a first template that includes first multiple locations associated with a face of the first patient and associated with the identification of the first patient; may determine second multiple locations associated with a face of a current patient; may determine a second template of the face of the current patient based at least on the second multiple locations associated with the face of the current patient; may determine if the first template matches the second template; if the first template matches the second template, may provide an indication that the current patient has been correctly identified as the first patient; and if the first template does not match the second template, may provide an indication that the current patient has not been identified.
