Abstract: CAS IS SELECTIVELY REMOVED WITH RESPECT TO CO2 FROM A HYDROCARBONACEOUS FLUID STREAM WHICH CONTAINS CO2 AND CAS. EXAMPLES OF THE FLUID STREAM INCLUDE A GAS STREAM, FOR EXAMPLE NATURAL GAS, SYNTHESIS GAS FROM HEAVY OIL OR HEAVY RESIDUES OR REFINERY GAS, OR FROM LIQUID OR LIQUEFIED HYDROCARBONS, FOR EXAMPLE LPG (LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS) OR NGL (NATURAL GAS LIQUIDS). THE PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT BY (1) INTIMATELY CONTACTING THE FLUID STREAM IN AN ABSORPTION OR EXTRACTION ZONE (12) WITH A SCRUBBING LIQUOR CONSISTING OF AN AQUEOUS AMINE SOLUTION CONTAINING FROM 1.5 TO 5 MOL/L OF AN ALIPHATIC ALKANOLAMINE HAVING OF FROM 2 TO 12 CARBON ATOMS AND FROM 0.8 TO 1.7 MOL/L OF AT LEAST ONE ACTIVATOR SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF PIPERAZINE, METHYL PIPERAZINE AND MORPHO LINE, (2) REMOVING THE CAS ESSENTIALLY COMPLETELY FROM THE FLUID STREAM, AND (3) SEPARATING THE SUBSTANTIALLY COS-DECONTAMINATED FLUID STREAM AND THE CAS-LOADED SCRUBBING LIQUOR AND DISCHARGING THEM FROM THE ABSORPTION OR EXTRACTION ZONE (12).FIG. 1

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing COS from a stream of hydrocarbon fluid containing COS, in particular, from a stream of gas, such as for example, natural gas, synthesi s gas from heavy oil or heavy residues or refinery gas, or from liquid or liquefied hydrocarbons, such as for example, LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) and to a wash liquid for use in methods of this type. The stream of fluid is brough t into direct contact with the inventive wash fluid in an absorption or extraction zone. Said wash fluid consists of an aqueous amine solution which contains 1.5 to 5 moles/l of an aliphatic alkanolamine having between 2 and 12 C atoms and 0.4 to 1.7 moles/I of a primary or secondary amine as the activator. Substantially all of the COS is removed from the stream of fluid using the inventive amine wash. The stream of fluid which has been substantially cleaned of COS and the wash fluid which is loaded with COS are subsequently separated from one another and both fluids are fed out of the absorption or extraction zone. The wash fluid can subsequently be regenerated in the known manner and can be fed back to the absorption or extraction zone.

Abstract: COS is selectively removed with respect to CO2 from a hydrocarbonaceous fluid stream which contains CO2 and COS. The process is carried out by (1) intimately contacting the fluid stream in an absorption or extraction zone with a scrubbing liquor consisting of an aqueous amine solution containing from 1.5 to 5 mol/l of an aliphatic alkanolamine having of from 2 to 12 carbon atoms and from 0.8 to 1.7 mol/l of at least one activator selected from the group consisting of piperazine, methyl piperazine and morpholine, (2) removing the COS essentially completely from the fluid stream, and (3) separating the substantially COS-decontaminated fluid stream and the COS-loaded scrubbing liquor and discharging them from the absorption or extraction zone.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for removing mercaptans from fluid fluxes containing mercaptans, in particular from hydrocarbon gases, such as natural gas, synthesis gas from heavy oil or heavy residues or refinery gas, or also from liquid hydrocarbons, for example, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). According to the invention, a fluid flux of this type is brought into contac t with a washing solvent in an absorption or extraction zone. Said solvent contains at least one aliphatic alkanolamine which has 2 - 12 C-atoms. Enoug h washing solvent is supplied to the absorption or extraction zone to more or less completely eliminate at least CO2 and H2S from the fluid flux. The substantially purified fluid flux is subsequently separated from the charged washing solvent and both the fluid flux and the washing solvent are evacuate d from the absorption zone. The major part of the mercaptans are removed from the gas flux by the more or less complete removal of CO2 and H2S, without a notable portion of the hydrocarbon gases dissolving in the washing solvent.
