Abstract: A process for the recovery of unreacted monomers from a product stream comprising about 98% water and about 2% of unreacted monomers, formed on deodorisation during the preparation of polymer dispersions, in which the product stream is heated, the vapour mixture comprising water and unreacted monomers which escapes from the product stream during this heating is condensed and is subsequently separated into water and unreacted monomers.
