Abstract: A process is disclosed for dyeing and printing on textiles made from cellulose fibres or from mixtures of cellulose and other fibres, in an aqueous bath with pH values in excess of 12 and at temperatures of at least 100 DEG C. Use is made of vat dyes without the usual reducing agents for such dyes, in concentrations of alkali hydroxide in the bath of between 20 and 500 ml of aqueous alkaline lye at 38 DEG Bé per litre of bath, dyeing being finished in the normal way.

Abstract: A process for the continuous production of surface coloration on cellulose fibres in the form of textiles by treating the textiles with an aqueous bath containing at least 5 g/l of condensation products, quaternated with benzyl halides, of precondensates of trialkanol amines and ureas, cyclic carbonates and/or epihalogen hydrines and/or condensation products, quaternated with benzyl chloride, of piperazine and epichlorohydrin and 0.02 to 1 g/l of a phosphoric acid triester, the alcohol component of which has 6 to 18 carbon atoms, dyeing the textile thus treated in a separate bath in an aqueousmedium with reactive dyes, fixing the dye by treatment with an aqueous alkaline bath and completing the dyeing in the usual manner. The individual cellulose fibres of the textile are not completely dyed through but rather exhibit ring coloration.

Abstract: Monoamides of dicarboxylic acids of formula (I) are new. Also claimed is the use of (I) are new. Also claimed is the use of (I) as a wetting agent in the prodn. and processing of textiles. More specifically, R1 is 6-16C alkyl; R2 is H, 6-10C alkyl; A-B is -CH=CH- or (II, R5 = H); and X is sodium, potassium, ammonium, triethanolammonium or triisopropanolammonium. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful as agents in the processing and treatment of the raw material, pref. cotton and/or cotton mixts. to impart the necessary absorptive capacity. A controlled ratio of hydrophillic to lypophillic structural elements in (I) allows rapid wetting and imparts surface activity and good aq. solubility with little foaming. (I) are crystalline, colourless, have low odour with good storability and are handlable.
