    Abstract: The invention relates to compounds of the general formula I in which D is a phenyl or naphthyl radical, which contains a sulpho group and which is optionally further substituted, n is the number 1 or 2, R is hydrogen or methyl, R is optionally substituted phenyl free sulpho groups which is of R is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, chlorine or sulfo and X for n = 1 is at least one fibre-reactive radical of the triazine, pyrimidine, pyridazone, quinoxaline, quinazoline, phthalazine, thiazole, benzothiazole, acrylic, halopropionyl or haloacetyl, series and for n = 2 is a radical of the formula -X -B-X - where X and X are reactive radicals and B is a bridge member. The compounds according to the invention are very highly suitable for the dyeing of textile material containing hydroxyl groups.

    Abstract: Process for concentrating light by means of fluorescent compounds in plastic sheets or films. The fluorescent compounds used are those of the formula where R and R are identical or different aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, ortho-substituted aromatic or ortho-substituted heterocyclic radicals which are free of water-solubilising groups, X is chlorine or bromine, Y is fluorine, cyano, hydroxyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, -SO2R or >SO2 disposed in the 1,12- and/or 6,7-position, R is chlorine, alkyl or aryl, m is 0 to 12 and n is 1 to 5, the sum m + n being 1 to 14 and for m>1 and/or n>1 substituents X and Y being identical or different. By varying Y it is possible to shift the fluorescence maximum between 450 and 700 nm.
