Abstract: La presente invencion se refiere a un proceso para destilar oxido de etileno de una mezcla que contiene oxido de etileno, en una columna a una presion absoluta de 2 a 10 bar y una temperatura de 20 a 180 degree C extrayendo oxido de etileno puro en el estado líquido o gaseoso en la parte elevada de una columna o a través de una corriente lateral en la zona de rectificacion de la columna, el proceso consiste en efectuar la destilacion en una columna que tiene en su interior una pluralidad de zonas sucesivas de empaquetamientos de metal laminar estructurado o lechos acumulados de elementos de empaquetamiento, estando estas zonas asignadas a uno o más sistemas de extincion en el exterior de la columna.
