Abstract: The prepn. of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC)-free polyurethane soft foams comprises reacting: (A) liq. diphenylmethane diisocyanate-based polyisocyanate mixts. contg. bonded urethane gps.; with (B) high mol. wt. polyhydroxyl cpds.; and (C) opt. low mol. wt. chain extenders and/or cross linking agents; in the presence of (D) propellants; (E) catalysts; and (F) opt. additives. (A) contains 22-30 wt. % NCO gps. and is prepd. by reacting a diphenylmethane diisocyanate/polyisocyanate mixt. (a) contg. 55-99 wt. % diphenylmethane diisocyanate isomers, with at least one trifunctional polyoxypropylene polyol (b) with a hydroxy value of 20-60. (A) are also claimed per se.

Abstract: A heat-distortion-resistant (heat-resistant) thermoplastic moulding composition containing a copolymer comprising the copolymerised monomers a) styrene and at least one b) N-substituted amide of methacrylic acid is characterised in that the monomers are present in the moulding composition in the following proportions, based on a) + b): a) from 5 to 95% by weight b) from 95 to 5% by weight, and furthermore that the monomer b) is the amide of methacrylic acid of the formula where R is a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, an aryl radical or an aralkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, with the proviso that, for methyl and isopropyl as alkyl radical, the copolymers have a styrene content of less than 75% by weight. The moulding composition is used for the production of heat-distortion-resistant mouldings, optionally in composites with other thermoplastics.

Abstract: A heat-distortion-resistant (heat-resistant) thermoplastic moulding composition containing a terpolymer comprising the copolymerised monomers a) styrene b) acrylonitrile and at least one c) N-substituted amide of an alpha , beta -monoolefinically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid is characterised in that the monomers are present in the moulding composition in the following proportions, based on a) + b) + c): a) from 1 to 94% by weight b) from 1 to 40% by weight, c) from 5 to 98% by weight, and furthermore that the monomer c) is the amide of methacrylic acid of the formula where R is a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, an aryl radical or an aralkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The moulding composition is used for the production of heat-distortion-resistant mouldings, or composites with other thermoplastics.
