    Abstract: An aqueous dispersion of water-soluble polymers obtained by free radical polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated anionic monomers in an aqueous medium in the presence of a stabilizer, wherein the stabilizer comprises: (a) at least one water-soluble polymer selected from the group consisting of a graft polymer of vinyl acetate and/or vinyl propionate on polyethylene glycol, a polyethylene glycol blocked at one or both terminal groups with an alkyl, a carboxyl or an amino group, and a copolymer of alkyl polyalkylene glycol methacrylate and methacrylic acid; and (b) at least one water-soluble polymer selected from the group consisting of a hydrolyzed copolymer of vinyl alkyl ether and maleic anhydride in the form of free carboxyl groups or in the form of salts at least partially neutralized with one or more alkali metal hydroxides or one or more ammonium bases, a cationically modified potato starch, an anionically modified potato starch, a degraded potato starch and maltodextrin.

    Abstract: The invention relates to aqueous dispersions of hydrosoluble polymerisates o f ethylenically unsaturated anionic monomers obtainable by monomer radical polymerisation in an aqueous medium in the presence of at least one type of stabiliser characterised in that the polymerisation is carried out in the presence of at least one type of hydrosoluble polymer of the following group s: (a) branched polymerisates of vinyl acetate and/or vinyl propionate on polyethylenglycol, polyethylenglycol closed on one or two sides, by terminal groups comprising alkyl, carboxyl or amino groups, copolymerisate of alkylpolyalkylenglycolacrylates or alkylpolyalkylenglycolmethacrylates and acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid, polyalkylenglycols, polyethylenglycole closed on one or two sides, by terminal groups comprising alkyl, carboxyl or amino groups; and (b) hydrolysed copolymerisates of vinylalkylethers and maleic anhydride in the form of free carboxyl groups and in the form of salt s neutralised at least partially by alkali metal hydroxides or ammonium basses and/or a starch of a cationically modified potato starch group, cationically modified potato starch, degradable potato and maltodextrin starches which ar e used in the form of stabilisers. A method for producing said aqueous dispersions by monomer radical polymerisation in an aqueous medium in the presence of said hydrosoluble polymerisates of the groups (a) and (b) and th e use of said aqueous dispersions in the form of thickeners for aqueous system s are also disclosed.

    Abstract: La invencion se relaciona a dispersiones acuosas de polimerizados hidrosolubles de monomeros anionicos etilenicamente insaturados que se obtienen mediante la polimerizacion de radicales libres de los monomeros en un medio acuoso en presencia de al menos un tipo de estabilizador, caracterizado porque la polimerizacion se lleva a cabo en presencia de al menos un tipo de polimero hidrosoluble de los siguientes: (a) polimerizados ramificados de acetato de vinilo y/o propionato de vinilo en polietilenglicol, polietilenglicol cerrado en uno o dos lados, mediante grupos terminales que comprende grupos alquilo, carboxilo o amino, copolimerizado de acrilatos de alquil polialquilenglicol o metacrilatos de alquil polialquilenglicol y acido acrilico y/o acido metacrilico, polialquilenglicoles, polietilenglicol cerrado en uno dos lados, mediante grupos terminales que comprenden grupos alquilo, carboxilo o amino; y (b) copolimerizados hidrolizados de vinilalquileteres y anhidrido maleico en forma de grupos carboxilo libres y en forma de sales neutralizadas al menos parcialmente mediante hidroxidos de metal alcali o bases de amonio y/o un almidon de un grupo de almidon de papa cationicamente modificado, almidon de papa cationicamente modificado, almidon de papa degradado y almidones de maltodextrina, que se utilizan en forma de estabilizadores. Un metodo para producir las dispersiones acuosas mediante la polimerizacion de radicales de monomero en un medio acuoso en presencia de los polimerizados hidrosolubles de los grupos (a) y (b) y el uso de dispersiones acuosas en forma de agentes espesantes para sistemas acuosos tambien se describen.
