    Abstract: The invention relates to azo dyes having general formula (I), wherein one of radicals X and X represents hydroxy and the other represents amino or C1-C4-alkylamino optionally substituted by hydroxy, cyano, carboxyl, hydroxysulfonyl, methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl or acetoxy; n equals 0 or 1; m equals 1 or 2; k equals 0 or additionally 1, 2, 3 or 4 when X stands for NH2; D , D , D and D independently represent hydrogen or hydroxysulfonyl; Z represents a direct bond or a binding link of formula SO2NH-A, -SO2Nalk-A, -SO3-A-, NH-A-, Nalk-A-, -SO2-A-, SONH-A-, or CO-A, wherein A represents phenylene which may be substituted by hydroxysulfonyl or carboxyl, or naphthylene which may be substituted by hydroxysulfonyl or carboxyl, whereby A is bonded to the azo bridge; Alk represents C1-C8-alkyl which may be interrupted by 1 to 3 non-adjacent oxygen atoms, 1 sulfur atom or 1 sulfonyl group and may be substituted by hydroxy, C1-C4-alkanoyloxy, benzoyloxy, halogen, cyano, carboxy, hydroxysulfonyl, carbamoyl, phenyl or hydroxysulfonylphenyl or C5-C8-cycloalkyl; K represents the radical of an optionally substituted derivative of a benzol, naphthalene, pyrazole, pyridine, pyrimidine, indole or N-arylacetoacetamide series; X represents hydrogen or amino and Y represents a radical -CH2CH2OH, -CH2CH2-ND D , -CH=CH2 or -CH2CH2Q, wherein Q represents a group that may be separated under alkaline reaction conditions.     Abstract: New reactive azo dyes are 2-amino-1-phenylazonaphthalenesulfonic acid compounds (I) with a 4-sulfoalkylamino-6-halo-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl-amino group. New reactive azo dyes are 2-amino-1-phenylazonaphthalenesulfonic acid compounds of formula (I), with a 4-sulfoalkylamino-6-halo-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl-amino group; n, m = 0 or 1; Y = vinyl or C2H4Q; Q = a group eliminated under alkaline conditions; L = 2-6 carbon (C) alkylene, optionally with 1 or 2 non-adjacent oxygen (O) atoms or 1 or 2 imino groups in the chain; Hal = fluorine (F) or chlorine (Cl); R , R = hydrogen (H) or hydroxysulfonylmethyl; R = carboxy or hydroxysulfonyl; or R may also = H if R and/or R = hydroxysulfonylmethyl. An Independent claim is also included for mixtures containing (I) and 0.1-30 parts weight red, orange, yellow or blue reactive dye per 100 parts weight (I).

    Abstract: In the preparation of bisazo dyes (I) by diazotizing a 5-(2-anilino-4-halo-1,3,5-triazin-6-yl-amino)-aniline 2-sulfonic acid (II) and double coupling with 1-amino-8-naphthol-3(4),6-disulfonic acid without isolating the monoazo dye, diazotization of the amine is carried out in an aqueous solution containing over 40 g/l sodium or potassium chloride. In the preparation of bisazo dyes of formula (I) by diazotizing a 5-(2-anilino-4-halo-1,3,5-triazin-6-yl-amino)-aniline 2-sulfonic acid (II) of the formula D-NH2 and double coupling with 1-amino-8-naphthol-3(4),6-disulfonic acid (III) without isolating the monoazo dye, diazotization of the amine is carried out in an aqueous solution containing over 40 g/l sodium or potassium chloride. D = a group of formula (IV); Hal = fluorine (F) or chlorine (Cl); Z = hydrogen (H) or optionally substituted (m)ethyl; R = H or hydroxysulfonyl (SO3H); R = H, (m)ethyl, Cl, carboxyl (COOH), SO3H, vinylsulfonyl or SO2C2H4Q; R = H, methyl, COOH or SO3H; R = H, (m)ethyl or SO3H; and Q = a group eliminated by alkali.
