Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de MDI, que comprende los siguientes pasos: A) reacción de anilina y formaldehído en presencia de un ácido para dar metilen(difenildiaminas) y polimetilen-polifenilen-poliaminas, siendo la proporción molar de ácido respecto a amina como máximo 0, 2, B) reacción de la mezcla obtenida en el paso A) con fosgeno para dar metilen- (difenildiisocianatos) y polimetilen-polifenilen-poliisocianatos, C) separación de la mezcla obtenida a partir del paso B) en MDI monómero y MDI polímero, ascendiéndose la cantidad separada de MDI monómero a un 10 hasta un 70 % en peso, referido a la cantidad de MDI crudo, y D) separación del MDI monómero obtenido en el paso C) bajo separación de 2, 4''-MDI, separándose un 10 a un 80 % en peso de 2, 4''-MDI, referido a la cantidad total de 2, 4''-MDI, que está contenido en el MDI monómero obtenido a partir del paso C).

Abstract: A process for preparation of isocyanate compositions with blocked isocyanate groups including the steps; (a) reaction of polyisocyanates with an amount of at least one alcohol having at least two OH groups such that not all the isocyanate groups are reacted, (b) reaction of the free isocyanate groups with a compound which reacts reversibly with isocyanate groups in the presence of a halogen acid and/or a carboxylic acid ester is new. A process for preparation of isocyanate compositions with blocked isocyanate groups including the steps; (a) reaction of polyisocyanates with an amount of at least one alcohol having at least two OH groups such that not all the isocyanate groups are reacted, (b) reaction of the free isocyanate groups with a compound which reacts reversibly with isocyanate groups, in the presence of an acid halide and/or a carboxylic acid ester (CAA) of formula (I): Rand R3 = linear or branched 4-16C alkyl, R2 = aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or aromatic 1-12C hydrocarbon. An Independent claim is included for isocyanate compositions with blocked isocyanate groups obtained as above.

Abstract: Highly functional aromatic polyisocyanates are prepared by reacting aromatic polyisocyanates, if required as a mixture with further mono- and/or polyisocyanates, with addition of catalytic acidic substances and water, by a process wherein the aromatic polyisocyanates used comprise at least one tolylene diisocyanate and the catalytic acidic substance used is at least one alkyl and/or aralkyl phosphate, and the process is carried out in such a way that the water is added with a temperature/time gradient increase from 5 to 60°/hour and until an isocyanate modification of the starting NCO terminal groups from 1 to 80% is established. The highly functional aromatic polyisocyanates prepared by this process are used for the preparation of polyurethane foams, in particular flexible polyurethane foams.
