Abstract: Starch, cellulose or their mixtures are used as phase mediators in the production of polymer compositions containing beeswax and/or montan ester wax. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for reducing the water vapor permeability of films or coatings formed from a polymer composition Q comprises: (a) preparing an additive composition Z comprising 40-98.5 wt.% polymer(s) compatible with Q, 0.5-20 wt.% starch and/or cellulose, 1-20 wt.% beeswax and/or montan ester wax and 0-20 wt.% additive(s); and (b) combining Z with Q; (2) films or coatings obtainable from a composition produced by combining Z with Q; (3) compositions comprising 40-98.5 wt.% partially aromatic polyester(s), 0.5-20 wt.% starch and/or cellulose, 1-20 wt.% beeswax and/or montan ester wax and 0-20 wt.% additive(s).

Abstract: A composition containing: (X) a biologically degradable polymer and (Y) at least one fluorescent dye is new. Abstract: The present invention relates to biodegradable polyester mixtures comprising from 5% to 80% by weight, based on the total weight of components i to ii, of at least one polyester based on aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and an aliphatic dihydroxy compound (component i) and from 20% to 95% by weight, based on the total weight of components i to ii, of at least one renewable raw material (component ii) and from 0.1% to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of components i to ii, of a component iii which is capable of forming covalent bonds with both component i and component ii. The present invention further relates to processes for producing biodegradable polyester mixtures, to the use of biodegradable polyester mixtures for producing blends, moldings, films, sheets or fibers and also to blends, moldings, films, sheets or fibers comprising biodegradable polyester mixtures.
