Abstract: The present invention is a method of producing dry, alkali metal or ammonium carboxylic acid salt particles. In accordance with the invention, a molten carboxylic acid is mixed with a solution of an alkali metal-containing or ammonium-containing alkaline compound and the carboxylic acid and alkaline compound are reacted to form the carboxylic acid salt. Water is then removed from the carboxylic acid salt to produce dry, carboxylic acid salt particles. The feed ratio of the molten carboxylic acid and the alkaline compound is controlled to neutralize the carboxylic acid in the process.

Abstract: Método de preparación de una sal seca de metal alcalino de un ácido carboxílico, que comprende las etapas de: alimentar a un mezclador un ácido carboxílico fundido y un compuesto alcalino que contiene metal alcalino en solución; reaccionar el ácido carboxílico fundido y el compuesto alcalino que contiene metal alcalino para formar una sal de metal alcalino de ácido carboxílico, de manera que el ácido carboxílico queda neutralizado sustancialmente; enviar la sal de ácido carboxílico y cualquier ácido carboxílico o compuesto alcalino que permanezca hacia un secador; separar, en el secador, agua de la sal de metal alcalino de ácido carboxílico para producir partículas secas de sal de metal alcalino de ácido carboxílico; y recuperar las partículas secas de sal de metal alcalino de ácido carboxílico; en donde dicha etapa de alimentación al mezclador del ácido carboxílico fundido y del compuesto alcalino en solución comprende: dosificar al interior del mezclador el ácido carboxílico fundido y dosificar el compuesto alcalino que contiene metal alcalino en solución al interior del mezclador, de manera que la cantidad de compuesto alcalino dosificada al interior del mezclador se encuentre de manera consistente dentro del 1% de la cantidad molar suficiente para neutralizar el ácido carboxílico dosificado al interior del mezclador; y en donde dicho ácido carboxílico es dicamba.
