Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing glucose from a starting m aterial containing ligno-cellulose. According to said method, said material is initially treated with an ionic liquid and subsequently undergoes enzymat ic hydrolysis. The invention also relates to a method for producing microbia l metabolic products, especially ethanol, wherein the obtained glucose also undergoes fermentation.
