Abstract: A process for the preparation of a spray-dried powder containing at least one glycine-N,N-diacetic acid compound of a formula MOOC—CHR—N(CH2COOM)2, where R is a C1-12-alkyl and M is an alkali metal, the process including: preparing an aqueous solution containing the glycine-N,N-diacetic acid compound; concurrently passing the aqueous solution and air into a spray-drying apparatus; atomizing the aqueous solution by feeding the aqueous solution onto a rotating disk or by compressing the aqueous solution with a pump to a pressure of ≧20 bar absolute, to obtain fine liquid droplets; and drying the droplets, to obtain the spray-dried powder, where a temperature gradient between the aqueous solution and the air is in a range from 70 to 350° C., and a content of the glycine-N,N-diacetic acid compound in the aqueous solution is ≧84% by weight, based on a total weight of the dry mass.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a spray powder containing one or more glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives of the general formula (I) MOOC-CHR-N(CH2COOM)2 (I), R standing for C1-12 alkyl and M standing for alkali metal, starting from an aqueous solution containing the one or more glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives, which is spray-dried by adding air, characterized in that - the aqueous solution contains the one or more glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives at a fraction of = 84 wt.% relative to the total weight of the dry mass, and that - the spray drying occurs in a drying apparatus, to which the aqueous solution and the air are fed in parallel flow, with a temperature gradient between the aqueous solution and the air in the range of 70 to 350 °C, and that - in the drying apparatus, the aqueous solution is atomized into fine liquid droplets by being guided onto one or more disks, which rotate at a circumferential speed of = 100 m/s, or by being compressed by means of a pump to a pressure of = 20 bar absolute and introduced into the drying apparatus at this pressure by means of one or more nozzles.

Abstract: La invención se refiere a un método para producir un polvo aspersor que contiene uno o más derivados de glicina-ácido N,Ndiacético de la fórmula general (I) MOOC-CHR-N(CH2COOM)2 (I), R significa alquilo de C1-12 y M significa metal alcalino, partiendo de una solución acuosa que contiene el uno o más derivados de glicina- ácido N,N-diacético, que se seca por aspersión al agregar aire, caracterizado además porque la solución acuosa contiene el uno o más derivados de glicina-ácido N,N-diacético a una fracción de = 84% en peso relativo al peso total de la masa seca, y porque el secad por aspersión ocurre en un aparato de secado, al cual la solución acuosa y el aire se alimentan en flujo paralelo, con un gradiente de temperatura entre la solución acuosa y el aire en el rango de 70 a 350°C, y porque en el aparato de secado, la solución acuosa se atomiza en las gotas líquidas finas al ser guiada en uno o más discos, los cuales rotan a una velocidad circunferencial de = 100 m/s, o al ser comprimida por medio de una bomba aun presión de = 20 bar absoluto e introducida en el aparato de secado a esta presión por medio de una o más boquillas.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing a solid sodium diformate preparation having a formic acid content of at least 35% by weight based on the total weight of sodium diformate preparation, in which, at elevated temperature, an aqueous solution (E) is produced which comprises sodium formate and formic acid in a molar ratio of HCOOH:HCOONa of greater than 1.5:1 and which has a molar ratio of HCOOH:H2O of at least 1.1 :1 , the aqueous solution (E) is brought to crystallization to obtain a solid phase (F) and a mother liquor (G), and the solid phase (F) is separated off from the mother liquor (G), (i) the mother liquor (G) being fed to a distillation apparatus (DV); (ii) the mother liquor (G) in the distillation apparatus (DV) being admixed with a so- dium-comprising base (A) to obtain a mixture (B) comprising sodium formate and formic acid; (iii) admixing the mixture (B) obtained from step (ii) with formic acid (D) to obtain the aqueous solution (E); and (iv) excess water (C) essentially being ejected only by withdrawal from the distillation apparatus (DV); and also to the use of a solid sodium diformate preparation obtainable by the inventive process as feed additive for animal feed, in particular for monogastric animal feed and especially for animal feed for hogs and/or poultry.
