Abstract: Process for making an electrode active material for a lithium ion battery, said process comprising the following steps: (a) Contacting a mixture of (A) a precursor of a mixed oxide according to general formula Li 1+x TM 1-x O 2 , wherein TM is a combination of two or more transition metals selected from Mn, Co and Ni, optionally in combination with at least one more metal selected from Ba, Al, Ti, Zr, W, Fe, Cr, K, Mo, Nb, Mg, Naand V, and x is in the range of from zero to 0.2, and (B) at least one lithium compound, with (C) Br 2 , I 2 , or at least one compound selected from carbon perhalides selected from the bromides and iodides, and interhalogen compounds comprising bromine or iodine, and (b) Subjecting said mixture to heat treatment at a temperature in the range of from 700 to 1000°C.

Abstract: Verfahren zur Herstellung von Chlor durch Oxidation von Chlorwasserstoff mit Sauerstoff in Gegenwart eines partikelförmigen Katalysators in einem Wirbelschichtreaktor, wobei die Reaktionswärme der exothermen Chlorwasserstoff-Oxidation mit Wasser abgeführt wird, das in den Rohren eines Rohrbündelwärmetauschers zirkuliert, wobei (i) in einer Aufheizphase der Wirbelschichtreaktor auf eine Betriebstemperatur im Bereich von 350 bis 420°C aufgeheizt und (ii) in einer Betriebsphase bei der Betriebstemperatur Chlorwasserstoff mit Sauerstoff umgesetzt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass (i-1 ) in einer ersten Aufheizphase der Wirbelschichtreaktor auf eine Temperatur unterhalb der Betriebstemperatur aufgeheizt wird, und (i-2) in einer zweiten Aufheizphase Chlorwasserstoff und Sauerstoff in den Wirbelschichtreaktor eingespeist und umgesetzt werden, wobei der Wirbelschichtreaktor durch die Reaktionswärme der exothermen Chlorwasserstoff-Oxidation auf die Betriebstemperatur aufgeheizt wird.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a tablet, which comprises the steps of (A) filling a starting material, which is in a solid form, in a first open cavity, which is formed by a first punch and a die, to obtain a second open cavity, which is filled at least partly with the starting material, (B) closing the second open cavity by a second punch to obtain a first closed cavity, (C) compressing the starting material at a compression temperature below 37°C by moving at least one out of the first punch and the second punch to obtain a second closed cavity, which has a smaller volume than the first closed cavity, which results in formation of a trapped tablet of the starting material in the second closed cavity, (D) removing the trapped tablet to obtain the tablet, which has a tablet temperature below 37°C directly after removal, wherein the starting material is solid at 37 °C and 101.32 KPa and consists out of (i) 60 to 100 wt.% of a first polymer stabilizer selected from a list of several members, (ii) 0 to 40 wt.% of a second polymer stabilizer, which is Zn-, Ca- or Mg-stearate, (iii) 0 to 34 wt.% of a third polymer stabilizer, which is zinc oxide, hydrotalcite or so- dium benzoate, (iv) 0 to 20 wt.% of a further ingredient, which is different to the first polymer stabilizer, the second polymer stabilizer and the third polymer stabilizer, wherein the sum of components (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) is 100 wt.%, and the tablet has a weight above 20 mg and below 330 mg and a cross-section dimension above 3 mm and below 18 mm. Furthermore, a method for stabilizing a polymer, which is a polyolefin, a polystyrene or a mixture thereof, is disclosed, which comprises the dosing of the tablet to the polymer. The tablet is useful for a dust-free handling of its components at manufacturing of the stabilized polymer.

Abstract: Vorgeschlagen wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Chlor durch Oxidation von Chlorwasserstoff in Gegenwart eines heterogenen partikelförmigen Katalysators nach dem Deacon-Verfahren in einem Wirbelschichtreaktor (1), wobei die Reaktionswärme durch Siedekühlung mit Wasser abgeführt wird, das in den Rohren zwei eines Rohrbündelwärmetauschers zirkuliert, wobei das Wasser aus einer Dampftrommel (4) über eine Zuleitung (5) den Rohren (2) des Rohrbündelwärmetauschers an einem Ende derselben zugeführt wird, sich in den Rohren (2) durch Aufnahme der Reaktionswärme erwärmt und teilweise verdampft, unter Erhalt eines Wasser/Dampf-Gemisches, das am anderen Ende der Rohre (2) des Rohrbündelwärmetauschers über eine Rückleitung (6) in die Dampftrommel (4) zurückgeleitet wird, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass der Maximaldruck für den der Wirbelschichtreaktor (1) für den Fall des Abrisses eines Rohres (2) des Rohrbündelwärmetauschers ausgelegt werden muss minimiert wird, indem in die Zuleitung (5) und in die Rückleitung (6) jeweils ein Ventil (7) eingesetzt wird, das bei einem Druckanstieg infolge des Abrisses eines Rohres (2) die Zuleitung (5) und die Rückleitung (6) absperrt und dadurch verhindert, dass Wasser aus der Dampftrommel (4) in den Wirbelschichtreaktor (1) nachströmt.

Abstract: Disclosed is a fluidized bed reactor for carrying out a gas phase reaction. A gaseous reaction mixture flows from the bottom to the top of a heterogeneous particulate catalyst that forms a fluidized bed in which baffles are arranged. Said fluidized bed reactor is characterized in that the baffles divide the fluidized bed into a plurality of cells horizontally disposed in the fluidized bed reactor and a plurality of cells vertically disposed in the fluidized bed reactor, the cell walls being gas-permeable and being provided with openings which ensure that the heterogeneous particulate catalyst reaches a transfer rate ranging from 1 to 100 liters/hour per liter of reactor volume in the vertical direction.
