    Abstract: A heavy duty pneumatic tire comprises a carcass (1) composed of at least one ply (a,b) of radially arranged cords which are arranged at an angle from 90 to 75 DEG with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire, and a belt (2) comprising a first group ( alpha ) of layers composed of cords arranged substantially parallel with said plane and a second group ( beta ) of layers composed of cords arranged at an angle from 15 to 65 DEG with respect to said plane. At least one of the belt layers in the first group has a width at least 1.10 times that of the normal ground contact width (W) of the tread portion, and the belt layers of the second group each have a different inclination direction with respect to the adjacent one of the second group, are each interposed between any combination among the carcass ply, the belt layers of the first group and the other belt layers of the second group, and have a width not greater than the width (W) and the width of the radially innermost and outermost layers of the first group.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the separation of a protective layer by impregnating or adhering impregnant among the cord filaments of organic fiber, and joining them to form a cord, so that a protective layer can be constituted. CONSTITUTION:When a protective layer is constituted by an Aramid cord 32 made up of industrial fibers 40 such as Aramid fibers, first, impregnant 42 such as liquid polybutadiene rubber is injected among bundled Aramid fibers 40, and then adhesive is applied to them. Then, this is formed in a cord 32, and a protective layer is formed by this cord 32. By this constitution, moisture absorption among organic fibers can be prevented, and even if cut advances up to the protective layer, the separation of the protective layer can be prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent generation of error in placing intervals or a cord angle, by a method wherein a strip for placing turnup ply of a bead core is rolled back and a strip for a turndown ply is stuck to the strip for the turnup ply. CONSTITUTION:Strips 1a, 1b for a turnup ply, for example, of two-sheet constitution are wound up round a band molding drum, a pair of peeling sheets 3 are put on the side from a position corresponding to a roll back end at a molding stage afterward, round which turndown plies 2a, 2b of two-sheet constitution are wound up and a peeling sheet 4 having a width which can be held in an arranging width of the peeling sheet 3 is put in the turndown plies 2a, 2b. Stitching is performed extending over the whole, to which a band 5 is stuck close and the turndown plies 2a, 2b are folded back temporarily while peeling them off from the peeling sheet 3. This peeling sheet 3 is stripped off, a drum former 6 is expanded, bead cores 7 are placed into the turnup plies 1a, 1b and predetermined rolling-back is performed. Temporary folding-back of the turndown plies 2a, 2b are stuck to the rolling-back spheres of the strips 1a, 1b by putting them upon the rolling-back sphere, the peeling sheet 4 is removed, switching is performed and a green case 9 is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To effectively realize the reinforcement of a body in which the upper part of a bead is not apprehended to be separated by employing a cord stripe in which a squeegee rubber sheet is disposed from a position opposed to the turnup end of ply to an outside. CONSTITUTION:When a rubber-coating cord stripe 9 to be filled in the turnup ply of a carcass 1 is wound on a case band forming drum 10 in a step of forming a case band, a rubber sheet 11 to become a squeegee rubber 8 is disposed from a position opposed to the turnup end of ply to an outside, or integrally applied in case of connecting the stripe 9 prior to the winding to form the case band. As a result, a shearing strain between a hard bead filler rubber 3 and a carcass ply is so absorbed to be alleviated as to improve the durability of the bead of a product tire simply without particular trouble not only in the following process of forming the tire but in adhering step itself.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a degree of separation resistance, by setting up an auxilia ry cross belt layer consisting of a specific organic fiber cord between a circum ferential main belt layer, disposing specific cords as specified and a tread, in case of a tire bearing the above caption for a bus or the like. CONSTITUTION:A circumferential belt layer, disposing a high modulus cord being less than 10% in cut expansion and having a modulus of more than 1,000kg/mm to a circumferential direction at an angle of 0 deg.-15 deg. is plurally layered, forming a main belt layer 3. And, an auxiliary cross belt layer 4 composed of more than one layer of a cross belt layer consisting of an organic fiber cord being more than 2% in cur expansion and less than 500kg/mm in the initial modulus is set up between this main belt layer 3 and a tread 2. And, the width should be set to more than 70% of grounding width at the time of normal load internal pressure load, and a cord angle should be set to more than 10 deg. to the tire circumferential direction. With this constitution, separation resistance between the belt layer and the tread is improvable.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make rigid the bead sections of a heavy-duty pneumatic radial tire, and to enhance the durability of the bead sections, by disposing a stiffener composite of two kinds of rubbers between a carcass and the fold-back section of each bear core together with main and sub chaffers. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a toroidal carcass 1 having fold back sections 2 each of which is folded back around each bead core 5 from the inside to outside of the tire. Further a stiffener 6 composed of a hard rubber 6-1 on the side made in contact with the bead core, and a soft rubber 6-2 continuous to the former is disposed between the fold-back section 2 and the carcass 1. Further, a main chaffer 3 formed of aromatic group polyamide fiber cords is disposed extending from a level below the terminal end of the fold-back section 2 to the inside of the carcass 1 along the fold-back section 1. Further, there are provided a plurality of sub chaffers 4 formed of cords having a modulus smaller than that of the main chaffer 3 and extending from a level above the terminal end of the hold-back section 2 to cover this terminal end and the starting end of the main chaffer 3.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To aim at prevention of the occurrence of a standing wave in a shoulder part, etc., by constitution a belt cord ply consisting of an organic fiber with two types of cords different in a twist coefficient each, while setting a ratio of the twist coefficient of each cord to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A tire is provided with a belt ply consisting of an organic fiber, and at least one of the belt plies is made up of belt cord plies 3 consisting of cords disposed in almost parallel with their circumferential directions, while it has a width of more than 110% or so with grounding width. In this case, the belt cord plies 3 are constituted of the cord embedded in a shoulder part of the tire and more than 0.30 in its twist coefficient and another cord embedded in a grounding surface central zone of the rest and less than 0.60 in its twist coefficient. And, a ratio of the twist coefficient of each of these cords should be set to a range of 1.2-1.8. With this constitution, a standing wave in the shoulder part is prevented from occurring and simultaneously one-sided wear is restrainable.

CONSTITUTION:In a hold-belt 32 to be arranged on the outer circumference of separating cross belts 26, the thickness of the rubber layer 36A on the turning-part inner side than the cord 34 is formed so as to be thicker than that of the rubber layer 36B on the turning-part outer side, to constitute the so-called odd gauge. By this constitution, the cord arrangement at the turning part can be prevented from becoming locally tight, so that the strain at the turning part due to repeated loads can be absorbed, thus separation can be prevented, and standing-wave resistance can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve cut resistance, and to prevent the occurrence of a group crack by specifying both the ratio of the cord-placing pitch of a protective layer being embedded in a tread to the cord clearance, and the distance between the bottom of the tread groove and the protective layer respectively. CONSTITUTION:Industrial fiber cords 32 such as an Aramid cord are arranged in the width direction of a tire 10, and when the relationship between the pitch L of the cords 32 of a protective layer 30 formed by coating the cords with a rubber layer and the outside dimension l of the cord is shown by the expression R=(L-l)/L, the ratio R is set to be 0.25 to 0.60. Further, the distance H from the bottom of the groove 28 forming a tread part 22 to the cord 32 is set to be less than 2mm. By this constitution, the cut resistance of the tire can be improved, and also the occurrence of a group crack can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A value of a compression factor C obtained from a prescribed relational expression of a core skin 7 under a bead core 2 C=t/f ((f) is actual rubber thickness occupied in skin thickness (e) just under the bead core, (t) in interference of a bead base part to a rim) is set to 0.5-0.65. Also, a bead base part 6 formed on the core skin 7 is formed in two step taper larger in comparison with taper ratio of an unillustrated rim fixed with interference fit, and the taper ratio on the side, toward a toe 11, of the bead base part 6 is set larger than that on the side toward the heel 10. At this time, ratios in tangents of half angles of respective tapers are set to 1.5-2.0 in a value of the heel side/rim and to 1.2-2.0 in a value of the toe side/heel side. According to this constitution, rim slip a the time of RTO can be made suitable.
