    Abstract: REDUCED ROLLING RESISTANCE PNEUMATIC RADIAL TIRE A heavy duty pneumatic radial tire includes a carcass consisting of at least one layer of metal cords substantially radially arranged, a breaker consisting of at least two layers of metal cords to form a main reinforcement with the carcass, and bead portions including hard and soft stiffeners. The carcass has a particular radial profile having a ratio of radii R/R' determined by a radius R1 of a standard circle and a radius R determined by a particular definition and has a maximum distance f between an arc of the standard circle and the remaining carcass line smoothly extending from the profile curvature of the shoulder. Moreover a radial profile over a radially inner zone of the sidewall of 20-45% of the radial height SH has a curvature 1/p less than 6x10-3 mm-1 at a location 32.5% of the radial height corresponding to a center of the profile.

    Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire for airplanes comprises a carcass (1) composed of a plurality of organic fiber cord plies and a belt composed of a combination of a cross belt layer structure (2) and a circumferential belt layer structure (3). The cross belt layer structure is comprised of at least two organic fiber cord layers, the cords of which layers being crossed with each other, and the circumferential belt layer structure is comprised of at least two organic fiber cord layers in such a manner that the number of cross belt layers is made larger at both side regions of the tread than at the central region thereof and the number of circumferential belt layers is made larger at the central region than at both side regions.

    Abstract: A high inner pressure heavy duty pneumatic radial tire includes a carcass of a plurality of plies made of laminated organic fiber cord layers of which one ply is turned up about bead cores, and a belt made of a plurality of laminated cord reinforcing layers. The belt includes at least one set of packing structural reinforcing layers. Each of the packing structrure reinforcing layers includes cord reinforcing layers wider than a width of the arranged belt and having width edges folded inwardly to form folded layers and further cord reinforcing layers having widths as cut corresponding to inner widths of the folded layers and surrounded by the folded layers to form inner core reinforcing layers. The further core reinforcing layers are higher in circumferential rigidity than the first mentioned core reinforcing layers. Cords of the first mentioned cord reinforcing layers and the further core reinforcing layers are made of material substantially the same at least in modulus of elasticity.

    Abstract: A heavy duty radial tire includes at least one radial carcass extending from one bead portion to the other bead portion and using inextensible cords and a belt arranged outwardly of the radial carcass for reinforcing a tread of the tire. The tire comprises, during expanding of the tire from 5% to 100% of a normal inner pressure, a first profile portion (5) expanding radially outwardly in a tread zone, a second profile portion (7) depressing axially inwardly of the tire in a radially outer zone of a sidewall from one end (4) of said tread to a tire maximum width position (6) when filled with the normal inner pressure, and a third profile portion (9) expanding axially outwardly of the tire in a radially inner zone of the sidewall from the tire maximum width position (6) when filled with the normal inner pressure to a parting point (8) of the sidewall from the rim, thereby properly distributing strains occurring in the tire in filling with the normal inner pressure. Moreover, a carcass profile in the radial cross-section of the tire filled with an inner pressure 5% of the normal inner pressure and under no load condition is a composite curve smoothly passing through points R, A and G, and the carcass profile fulfills three relations relative to a maximum distance H of the carcass line C from the bead base line RL with respect to maximum distance deviated from an equilibrium configuration curve N.
