    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the wear life of a tire by forming a number of thin cuts in a prescribed configuration while being extended in the axial direction of the tire in the outermost shoulder rib among a number of ribs partitioned by broad main grooves that are extended in the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:In a pneumatic tire in which a tread 1 is divided into at least three ribs 3 and 4 by at least two broad main grooves 2 that are extended in the circumferential direction of the tire, a number of thin cuts 5 extended in the axial direction of the tire are arranged at least in one line on the circumference of the tire in the shoulder rib 3 positioned at the outermost side of the tread 1 among the ribs by setting the outside end 5a almost in the circumferential direction of the tire. The distance (a) between the outside end 5a of each cut 5 contained in this cut row 6 and the outside end 3a of the shoulder rib 3 is set to 2 to 15% of the tread width T, the axial length (b) of the cut 5 is set to 2% or more of the tread width T, and the cut depth (d) is set to 40 to 100% of the depth (e) of the main groove 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the partial wear of a pneumatic radial tire for a heavy load by increasing the curvature of a tread section at the transverse section of the tire in the half of the outside against a car to which the tire is fit as compared with the half of the inside and fitting the tire in the direction where the outward transverse force resulting from the ply stair of a reinforcing cord is generated. CONSTITUTION:For the curvature diameters Ro and Ri of the outside and inside contours in a tread section 1, Ro is set larger than Ri. In addition, the belt 3 of a tire (A) fit to the left side in the advance direction is a stacked cord layer whose cord arrangement is left rise, left rise, right rise, and right rise in the inside to the outside order of the tire and the belt layer 3 of a tire (B) fit to the right is stacked in right rise, right rise, left rise, and left rise, and then each has a ply stair marked by an arrow alpha or beta.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To set a tire at high speed for traveling when it is impossible to levitate between stations by specifying respectively the blow-out temperature of rubber constituting the ouside and the inside of a tread and also specifying respectively values of the 100% modulus values. CONSTITUTION:A tread 31 is composed of an outside section 32 positioned outside the radius direction and brought into contact with the road surface and an inside section 33 positioned inside the radius direction. The blow-out temperature of the outside section 32 is set in the range of 170-200 deg.C, and rubber having 100% modulus value in the range of 20kg/cm to 30kg/cm is used. The wall thickness T on a tire equatorial face E of the outside section 32 is made in the range of 0.3 to 0.8 times of the tread wall thickness N (total wall thickness of the outside section 32 and the inside section 33 on the tire equatorial face E). On the other hand, the rubber having its blow-out temperature of 230 deg.C or over and 100% modulus value more than the 100% modulus value of the outside section 32 is used for the inside section 33. As a result, in the case of landing at super-high speed, only the inside section 33 can remain.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide flame retardancy of a tire even when the tire is brought into contact with a spark or fire in the last stage of wear of a pneumatic tire or in the case of breakage of the tire by using flame retardant organic fiber having an oxygen index within a specific value range, for at least an organic fiber cord in an outermost layer in a tread part. CONSTITUTION:In the last stage of wear of a tire, organic fiber 1 in a tread outermost layer is first exposed. At least for this organic fiber 1 in the outermost layer of a tread part 2, flame retardant fiber having an oxygen index (defined and measured by JIS K 7201, also referred to as O.I.) of 26.0-35.0 is used. Flame retardancy of the organic fiber in not only the outermost layer but also in two layers, three layers and the like toward the inside is preferable. Accordingly, the flame retardancy of the tire can be secured even when the tire is brought into contact with a spark or fire in the last stage of wear of a pneumatic tire or in the case of breakage of the tire.

The contacting part of the bead part 25 of the pneumatic tire 10 with the rim of a basic rim 26 is provided with a rubber chaffer layer 28 formed of a flame proof rubber component whose oxygen index is within a range from 19.8 to 27.5 to a gauge T being 1.0mm or less.

At this time, the dimension of distance A from the surface of the tread 22 of the cord layer 30 is set to the range of 0.35 to 0.55 of the depth B in the deepest section of the groove 28. Consequently, it is possible to suppress chevron cut which occurs from the initial stage of tire wear to the intermediate stage of wear.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance of a tread part in a tire to support a car load slowly changing at takeoff and landing by enlarging a gauge dimension of a belt layer at the middle of a direction of a tire width, and partially forming the belt layer into plural narrow belt layers. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor car floats and drives a car body by a magnetic force operating between a super conductive magnet arranged on a side of a car body and a floating coil and a propelling guide coil which are arranged on a side of a guide passage, and supports the car body through a tire 40 at its takeoff and landing. In the tire 40, plural sheets of belts 56 are adjacently provided in a layer-shape on an outside in a radial direction of the tire of a down carcass 44 and along its convex part 54, and belts 58 are also provided in the same layer-shape on an outside in a radial direction of the belt 56. The dimension of the belt 56 in a direction of a tire width is established to be gradually narrower as a measuring position becomes near the inside in the radial direction of the tire. Thus the gauge dimensions H1 of the belt layers 56, 58 becomes larger at the central part in the dimension of the tire width.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it difficult to cause hydroplaining even when a levitation type vehicle is landed on an wet road surface during travelling at ultra-high speed by providing grooves along the periphery of a tire on a tread, and specifying the ratio of opening area of their grooves within a ground-contact surface when the tread is worn to an apparent ground-contact area. CONSTITUTION:In a tire for levitation type vehicle 14, a pair of grooves 38 are formed at regular intervals on the external surfaces of a tread 34 in tire circumferential direction. These grooves 38 are arranged along the periphery of the tire within an area (dimension B) of 45% of a ground-contact width in ground contact width direction relative to the center of the ground-contact width under 100% load. Also, until the external surfaces of the tread 34 of a new part are worn to a remaining depth of 1.6mm, the ratio of opening area of the grooves 38 in their ground-contact area to an apparent ground-contact area under 100% load is set within an area of 0.02 to 0.15. In addition, organic fiber layer 40 is embedded inside the tread 34 as an wear end indication means, and it is exposed over the surfaces of the tread 34 when the tread 34 is worn to the remaining depth of 1.6mm.
