    Abstract: A lithium ion adsorbent and a method for preparing same are disclosed. The lithium ion adsorbent includes a material having a chemical formula of LiCl·2Al(OH)3nH2O, where n is an integer from 1 to 3. The method includes: mixing a lithium salt solution and a meta-aluminate solution, and performing a first stirring, a first aging and a first filtration to obtain a precursor; mixing the precursor with an acid and controlling the amount of the acid added to obtain a mixture with a pH value of 6.0-7.0, and performing a second stirring, a second aging and a second filtration to obtain a residue obtained from the second filtration; and treating the residue obtained from the second filtration by 1 to 3 cycles of pre-desorption and filtration.

    Abstract: A method for extracting lithium from salt lake includes the following steps. The salt lake brine is flowed through a lithium adsorbent at a varying rate, to allow the lithium ions in the salt lake brine to be adsorbed on the lithium adsorbent, to obtain a lithium-rich adsorbent. During the adsorption process, the flow rate of the salt lake brine gradually decreases, and the difference between the initial flow rate and the final flow rate of the salt lake brine is 0.5-3BV/h. The lithium-rich adsorbent is washed. The lithium ions are desorbed from the washed lithium-rich adsorbent with a lithium ion eluent, to obtain a desorption solution.
