The invention provides an aqueous ink comprising a polymer having hydroxyl groups and a pigment, which can provide images excellent in scratch resistance and highlighter resistance and can inhibit the seeping out phenomenon of the polymer and the deterioration of storage stability and ejection characteristics even when it is stored for a long period of time. The aqueous ink comprises a polymer having hydroxyl groups and a pigment, wherein a proportion of a content of a polymer that is not adsorbed on the pigment out of the polymer having hydroxyl groups to the content of the pigment in the ink is 2.0 mass% or more, and a content (mass%) of the polymer that is not adsorbed on the pigment out of the polymer having hydroxyl groups is 0.20 mass% or less based on the total mass of the ink.

The present invention provides a fluorescence ink having a high fluorescence intensity, and an ink jet recording method using the same. The ink contains a first fluorescent coloring material that emits fluorescence at a predetermined fluorescence wavelength to be used for measurement or determination with excitation at a predetermined excitation wavelength, a second fluorescent coloring material that emits fluorescence on excitation at the predetermined excitation wavelength, where the excitation spectrum of the first coloring material in the ink to obtain the fluorescence at the predetermined emission wavelength has a peak wavelength range next to the predetermined fluorescence wavelength, and the emission fluorescence spectrum of the second coloring material has an emission wavelength region substantially including at least the above peak wavelength range.

The invention provides a mailing ink, an ink tank for mailing, an ink jet recording method for mailing and an ink jet recording apparatus for mailing that can reconcile preferable tint and visibility as indicia with readability by a 2-D bar code reader. The ink is a mailing ink used in ink jet recording. In the mailing ink, the ink tank for mailing, the ink jet recording method for mailing and the ink jet recording apparatus for mailing, the ink provides an 'a*' of from -10 to 15 and a 'b*' of from -50 to -15 according to the CIE L*a*b* color system in a printed portion obtained by applying the ink to a recording medium so as to give an application amount of ink of 4.5 mg per square inch, and provides an integrated value of reflection spectrum of 90 or lower in a wavelength region of from 380 nm to 730 nm in the printed portion.

An aqueous ink which comprises a water-dispersible coloring material and a water-soluble crystalline component, characterized in that as a water component in the aqueous ink decreases, the water-dispersible coloring material forms an aggregate with the above crystalline component; an aqueous ink which comprises a coloring material group comprising a water-dispersible coloring material and a water-soluble coloring material and a water-soluble crystalline component, characterized in that as a water component in the aqueous ink decreases, the water-dispersible coloring material forms an aggregate with the above crystalline component; an ink-jet recording method using the aqueous ink; a recorded article obtained by said method; and a device using the ink. The aqueous ink can make sufficient utilization of fastness characteristics of the water-dispersible coloring material to provide the resulting recorded article with good quality, and also can impart satisfactory coloring including fluorescence through the combined use of the water-soluble coloring material to a recorded portion, which results in excellent printing quality involving high fluorescent strength and coloring property, and in the improvement in the stability and reliability of a recorded article.

Tinta para efectos de correo para ser utilizada en una impresión por chorros de tinta, que proporciona una "a*", desde -10 a15, y una "b*" desde -50 a -15, según el sistema de color CIE L*a*b* en una parte impresa obtenida aplicando la tinta a un soporte de impresión, de tal manera que se consigue una cantidad de aplicación de tinta de 4,5 mg por pulgada cuadrada y proporciona un valor integrado del espectro de reflexión de 80 o menor, en una zona de longitudes de onda de 380 nm a 730 nm en la parte impresa, en la que la tinta comprende, al menos, un material colorante de tipo azul.
