    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a recording image having high resolution for a prolonged term by smoothly fluidizing a developer between a recording electrode and a counter electrode without compaction and preventing the fusion of the developer to the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer 29b of a cylindrical electrode 29 is formed of an elastic material having surface hardness of 30 deg.-90 deg. (a JIS spring type measuring method) and a volume electric resistance value of 10 -10 (OMEGA.cm), a recording electrode, in which a slit is formed at the front end of a recording electrode sheet 17 faced oppositely to the cylindrical electrode 18, is formed, and the recording electrode is constituted so as to be held by a cushion member 28b. According to the constitution, even when a magnetic toner (d) intends to be consolidated between the electrodes by the swing of the cylindrical electrode 29 and the irregularities of the recording electrode, the recording electrode corresponding to the position of the consolidation is rocked, the cushion member 28b is deflected, the surface section 29b of the cylindrical electrode 29 is indented flexibly, and an interelectrode distance L between the recording electrode and the cylindrical electrode 29 is kept constant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic powder carrier, which has excellent durability because it does not have a mechanical rotational mechanism, and which is low in noise, and by which a magnetic grain can be smoothly carried along a fixed route, and which is suitable for the reduction of appropriate instrument. CONSTITUTION:Two layers of FPC films Ff, on which a lead 3 extended in parallel to the width of the surface of a base film 4 at a proper interval, turned at both side parts of the surface, is formed as pattern, are deposited on the outer peripheral surface of a magnetic support body 2. The FPC films Ff are deposited, in such a way that one lead 3B of the lower layer is put between each lead part 3A of the upper layer. AC current, the potential phase of which is differed by pi/2, is electrified to the leads 3A, 3B of each layer, and a magnetic field that proceeds along the rear surface of an upper base film 4A, is thus formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a recording image of high resolving power on plain paper by arranging a cleaning electrode to which voltage of polarity reverse to the charged polarity of a developer is applied to a non-magnetic cylindrical body having a magnet roll supported on a shaft in a rotatable manner built therein on the upstream side of a recording position with respect to a developer feed direction. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning electrode 17d composed of a non-magnetic conductive material is arranged to the surface of a recording electrode sheet 17 at a position separated from a recording electrode part 17a1 on the upstream side. The cleaning electrode 17d is arranged so as to extend over the entire region in the lateral direction of the surface of the recording electrode sheet 17 and embedded in an insulating coating layer 17c in such a state that the upper surface thereof is exposed. A cleaning power supply 17e capable of outputting DC voltage of polarity reverse to the charged polarity of a developer is interposed between the cleaning electrode 17d and a cylindrical electrode 5. Voltage is applied and a cleaning electric field is formed to clean the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrode 5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a sharp recording image with a long-term stability by a method wherein a cleaning electric field for transferring a developer on a recording electrode to an opposed electrode is formed in an electrode opposed part within a non-recording time. CONSTITUTION:Within a cleaning time t4 in a non-recording time t2, +20OV cleaning voltage V3 is applied to a cylindrical electrode 5, and a 0V OFF voltage is applied to all recording electrode lines. A cleaning electric field based on an electric potential difference of +200V in view from the cylindrical electrode 5 to the recording electrode lines is formed in an electrode opposed part. A magnetic toner on all the recording electrode lines is transferred onto the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrode 5. An electric potential difference in this case is +50V larger than a +150V electric potential difference generated when an ON voltage is applied within a recording time t1. Therefore, the resulting strong electric field enables the magnetic toner remaining on the recording electrode lines in the recording time t1 to be also transferred to the peripheral surface of the cylindrical electrode 5. In this manner, the magnetic toner can be efficiently prevented from accumulating on the recording electrode lines, and a reduction of image contrast and an occurrence of a defective image caused by a voltage leak between recording electrode lines through an accumulated magnetic toner can be positively prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of contamination owing to adhesion of a developer to the end parts of a recording picture by a method wherein dummy electrodes to prevent transfer of the developer to the opposite electrode side are located to the two end parts of a train of recording electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode wire RE 17a and a dummy electrode DE 17c are arranged in parallel on the upper stream side of a recording position. The DEC 17c holds a developer, conveyed along the upper surface thereof, so as to prevent separation of the developer therefrom. A width DW of the DE 17C is set to a value higher than a width EW of at least individual RE 17a and so as to satisfy a formula I when the arranging region width of the RE 17a is Ze and a developing region width is Zt. A recording voltage is selectively applied on each RE 17a according to recording information. Since a bias voltage is applied on a cylinder electrode CE 5 positioned facing the RE 17a, only a magnetic toner on the RE 17a is selectively transferred on the peripheral surface of the CE 5 to form a black dot. In this case, the magnetic toner conveyed to the DE 17c is not transferred to the CE 5 side and conveyed to the downstream side as it is. Namely, adhesion of the magnetic toner to two end parts in the direction of width being a non-picture part on the peripheral surface of the CE 5 is prevented.

Furthermore, a bias power source 5a impressing bias voltage to the cylindrical electrode 5, and a voltage control means controlling recording voltage and the bias voltage are provided. Thus, normal paper can be utilized and a bright image of the high resolution can also be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry magnet powder along a desired circulation path without requiring any rotary mechanism by arranging plural exciting coils along the internal surface of a nonmagnetic sleeve and feeding pulse-width modulating (PWM) currents phases of which are shifted by a proper quantity to those exciting coils. CONSTITUTION:A coil roll R which is fitted and fixed in a sleeve 2 is constitut ed by extending plural projection stripe parts 3a on the peripheral surface of a base roll 3, made of a magnetic body, axially at equal intervals and wind ing conductors 4a around the respective projection stripe parts 3a into coils 4. Then the (m) coils are fed with (m) kinds (m phases) of alternating currents (PWM current) by pulse-width modulation (PWM), phases of which are shifted by pi/m, in the arrangement order. Namely, two kinds (two) PWM current phases which of are pi/2 are fed to coils 4A and -4A in a group A and coils 4B and 4B in a group B respectively. Consequently, magnetic powder is conveyed with out providing any mechanical rotary mechanism.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform uniform printing with high density by applying a first voltage of a prescribed frequency to a control electrode and applying a second voltage of a higher frequency than the prescribed frequency per printing information to a segment electrode plural times. CONSTITUTION:A toner carrier 12 holding a toner layer on its surface carries toner T along a prescribed path. A common electrode body 8 is rotatably disposed on the opposite side to the toner carrying surface of the toner carrier 12 and a spiral electrode 9 is provided on its periphery. On the other hand, a signal electrode body 3 is oppositely disposed on the toner carrying surface of the toner carrier 12 and constituted of plural segment electrodes 3b1 and 3b2, while control electrodes 13a to 13c are provided inside of the toner carrier 12. The first voltage of the prescribed frequency is applied to the control electrodes 13a to 13c and the second voltage of higher frequency than the prescribed frequency per printing information is applied to the segment electrodes 3b1 and 3b2 plural times, so that the toner T on the toner carrier 12 can be transferred to recording material P fed between the toner carrier 12 and the signal electrode body 3. The uniform printing with high density can thus be performed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain consumable goods and an imaging apparatus in which abrasion of pins to be engaged with a carriage can be minimized. SOLUTION: A carriage 14 engages a screw roller 13 slidingly through a bearing 24 formed at a hooked corner. A plurality of contacts 25, an engaging hole 26, and stop clicks 27a, 27b are formed at the hooked vertical part of the carriage 14. When a cartridge 16 is pushed toward the vertical part of the carriage 14 as shown by an arrow B and fixed in place, the contacts 25 connect the driving part of the print head in the cartridge 16 with a flexible able 15 and the stop clicks 27a, 27b secure the cartridge 16 rigidly into the carriage 14 thus fitting the drive guide pin 28 of the cartridge 16 in the screw groove 13-1 of a screw roller 13 through the engaging hole 26. When screw roller 13 is rotated forward and reversely, the carriage 14 is reciprocated through the drive guide pin 28 of the cartridge 16.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a static recording device which especially holds a set space against an electrode between a recording electrode and an intermediate recording medium across the entire width directional area of a developer transport path, prevents the developer from fusing and depositing and can form a recorded image with superb resolution and excellent sharpness. CONSTITUTION:The tip of a recording electrode sheet 17 adhering to a spring sheet material 18 is formed of a recording electrode EL, in such a state that the tip protrudes from a stepped part provided on a development sleeve and faces a cylindrical electrode 5. In addition, the spring sheet material 18 has the tip bent so that its waving is prevented from occurring. Thus the flatness of the recording electrodes ELs arranged in parallel is ensured so that a recorded image with stable resolution and excellent sharpness can be formed, across the entire recording electrodes installed in parallel without pressing a developer, against the vibration or deviation of the stem of the cylindrical electrode 5 and a projecting part formed on the development sleeve 15.
