Abstract: A dual cap lining for bi-directional venting comprising a substantially shaped, laminated or secured, fluid-impermeable, gas-permeable material bottom layer congruent with a container opening, and having an extruded and cast polyethylene material top layer which is provided with channels on the lower surface of the top layer, and the material of construction of the laminated bottom layer is gas-permeable such that the dual lining allows bi-directional gas flow therethrough, for gases which have built-up in the interior of the connected container to safely escape by venting from the interior of the container to the external ambient atmosphere through openings existing between the spiral screw threads of the cap closure and threads of the container neck, and the reverse venting to equilibrate for relatively increased external pressure, without passage of solid or liquid material from the interior of the container through the lining to the closure and to the exterior of the container.

Abstract: Un forro de tapa 10 para ventilacion bidireccional que consiste de una capa de fondo 13 de material permeable al gas, impermeable a los fluidos, laminada y en forma de disco, que tiene una capa superior 15 de material de polietileno extruido y fundido con aperturas 12, las cuales comunican con la capa de fondo 13 y comunican con los canales 11 provistos en la superficie superior de la capa superior 15 y el material de la capa de fondo laminada es permeable al gas para que el forro permita el fluido de gas bidireccional a través de la misma, de gases que se han acumulado en el interior del recipiente para que escapen de una manera segur, ventilando del interior del recipiente hacia la atmosfera ambiente externa, a través de aperturas existentes entre los enroscados en espiral del cerrado de la tapa y los enroscados del cuello del recipiente, y la ventilacion revertida para equilibrar la presion externa relativamente aumentada, sin el paso del material del interior del recipiente a través del forro hacia el cerrado, y hacia el exterior del recipiente.

Abstract: FIELD: mechanical engineering; storage of liquids. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to double-layer cover gaskets able to pass gases and to covers used with such gaskets. Cover gasket has disk-shaped interconnected upper and lower layers. Lower layer adjoins reservoir opening closed by cover with like gasket and is made of water-repellent material permeable to gas. Upper layer is made of elastomer to provide passing of gases at any turning effort applied to cover with use of sealing gastight gasket. Upper surface of this layer has at least one channel passing along surface, and space holes communicating with indicated channel and with lower layer. Lower layer can be made of polyolefin material. Reservoir-to-cover connection unit consists of reservoir proper and cover and gasket of design described above placed in between. Upper layer of gasket is made of polyolefin featuring limited degree of deformation at torque required for closing the reservoir opening and preventing liquid flow applied to the layer. At least one channel of upper layer of gasket is open at edge of cover when cover is installed on reservoir opening. EFFECT: enhanced storage of liquids. 12 cl, 9 dwg
