Abstract: The current invention relates to a base plate (1) for an ostomy collection device, the base plate comprises at least one backing layer (3) whereon an outer adhesive layer (4) is disposed on the proximal side of said backing layer, wherein the outer adhesive layer encircles an inner adhesive layer (7) also disposed on the proximal side of at least one backing layer, said inner adhesive layer encircles a through - going hole (5) of the base plate defining a central axis A - A, wherein at least a part of the backing layer whereon the inner adhesive layer is disposed is extendable in a radial direction in respect to the central axis A - A. By allowing the backing layer to be radially extendable with the inner adhesive layer, the backing layer functions as a barrier to output from the stoma. Thus, output from the stoma will not come in direct contact with the distal side of the inner adhesive layer, which is shielded by the backing layer and thus extends the wear time of the ostomy appliance and reduces the risk that leakage may occur.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a collection device for collecting body fluids comprising a collecting bag for receiving the body fluids and an adhesive wafer attached to the collecting bag for attaching the collecting bag to the skin of a user. The collection device further comprises a monitoring opening arranged on the collecting bag and an opening cover coupled to the collecting bag and capable of being arranged in a closed position wherein body fluids is prevented from exiting the collecting bag through the monitoring opening, and in an open position wherein the monitoring opening cover is rotatable relative to the collecting bag. This provides a collection device having a monitoring opening where the user or nurse can open the cover and physically inspect the stoma or wound site without losing the cover and when done easily rotate it to a suitable position for closing. Thus, by facilitating the handling of the collection device the nurse can focus on the stoma or wound site.

Abstract: An arrangement for connecting fecal receiving bags together is provided. The arrangement provides for a simple coupling arrangement, which provides fluid communication between the bags while preventing odor and fluid to leak form the coupling. Such a coupling arrangement between two receiving devices or bags is discreet and comfortable to wear as the coupling members follow the extent of the receiving devices.
