    Abstract: A method of controlling the operation of a communication system is described, where the system comprises a first entity 2 for sending a first data object 21 to a terminal device 4 and a second entity 3 for sending a second data object to the terminal device at the request 41 of the terminal device 4 . The communication system also comprises a data transfer entity 11 and a charging entity 5 . The data transfer entity 11 records charging relevant parameters related to the transfer of the first data object. It is proposed that the second entity 3 is controlled to output a predetermined triggering message to the data transfer entity 11 and/or charging entity 5 , where the operation of processing the charging relevant parameters in a charging procedure is postponed until the predetermined message is received.

    Abstract: A universal authentication mechanism for authenticating a user to a service provider (SP) is disclosed. An application device (ApD) requests a service for the user from the service provider (SP) and performs a transmission of a user identity (S10) identifying the user to the service provider (SP). The service provider sends a request for confirmation of the user identity (S20) to an authentication server (AS). The request comprises the user identity and a service identity identifying the requested service. The authentication server (AS) sends a request for service authentication (S50) to the authentication device (AuD) for confirmation. Based on the result of an analysis (S80) of a service authentication confirmation (S60) received from the authentication device (AuD), the authentication server (AS) sends a confirmation of the user identity (S90) confirming the identity of the user to the service provider (SP), which grants service access (S100).

    Abstract: A technique for controlling a play-out of a media data stream at a receiving device is provided. The media data stream comprises one or more programs, and each program comprises one or more program components. In a method implementation of the technique, a zone description is defined. The zone description is defined for a media zone for at least one program or at least one program component in the media stream and identifies the media zone for the at least one program or the at least one program component. In a next step, the zone description is associated to a program specific information data segment. The program specific information data segment is part of the media stream and comprises data specifying information at least regarding to the at least one program or at least one program component.
