Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus in a sending node (400) for enabling accurate estimation of the quality of a wireless link to a receiving node. The apparatus contains a sending unit (400a) adapted to send signals to the receiving node (402) over the wireless link. The apparatus also contains a report receiver (400b) to receive at least one link state report from the receiving node (402). The link state reports are based on measurements on reference symbols transmitted by the sending node (400). A link state estimator (400c) is also provided to estimate a current state of the wireless link. A determining unit (400d) is adapted to determine a measurement adjusting parameter for adjusting the measurements on reference symbols if at least one received link state report is deemed inaccurate in relation to the estimated link state. This is determined based on a deviation between the received link state report(s) and the estimated current state of the wireless link. The determining unit (400d) is further configured to send the determined measurement adjusting parameter to the receiving node (402), which enables the receiving node (402) to determine a link quality estimation and/or parameter recommendation based on said signal measurements adjusted by the received measurement adjusting parameter. The report receiver (400b) is further adapted to receive a link state report from the receiving node (402) containing the determined link quality estimation and/or link parameter recommendation which is/are based on the adjusted signal measurements.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system for dynamically assigning orthogonal codes to different information signals communicated between a Node B and user equipment in a cellular radio communication system in which a fixed number of codes are allocated between dedicated transport channels (DCHs) and high speed downlink shared channels (HS-DSCHs). A radio controller (RNC) allocates a minimum number of codes for HS-DSCH physical channels (HS-PDSCH codes) to the Node B. The Node B determines HS-PDSCH codes that are not currently being utilized and allocates HS-PDSCH codes from the unused codes without having to communicate with the RNC. When the additional HS-PDSCH codes are needed for DCH codes, the Node B reallocates the codes for DCH purposes without reducing the number of HS-PDSCH codes below the allocated minimum.
