Abstract: A method for downloading a multimedia file from a server (101, 201, 300, 701) to a user device (100, 200, 400, 700), at least partly via a bandwidth limited connection (202, 702), a server and a user device adapted therefore. A user device, connected to a server selects a multimedia file to be downloaded via two bit streams. In the server the selected multimedia file is divided and coded into a first, low-quality part, and into a second, high-quality part (503). When certain conditions (505) set up for the first part are fulfilled, this part is streamed via a first bit stream (506), and when certain conditions set up for the second part are fulfilled, the second part is downloaded via a second bit stream (508). In the user device, the first part is received and reproduced (603b) as a limited version, available to be played-up in real time (604), while the second part is reproduced and combined with the first part (610, in order to yield the original multimedia file.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system adapted to facilitate, between a mobile station (MS) and network, an indication of support for reduced time transmission interval (RTTI). The MS can provide a base station system (BSS) with an indication of its multislot capability within an access burst sent at the start of a contention based access. In another aspect, the MS can indicate support for a new Immediate Assignment message as the conventional Immediate Assignment message can only assign single timeslots. The present invention enables the Radio Access Network (RAN) to assign RTTI and more than one timeslot for GPRS/EDGE temporary block flows (TBFs) during an Access Grant Channel (AGCH) assignment. The method of the present invention can be implemented in a computer program product or distributed software adapted to be loaded into at least one or a plurality of memory locations and executed by at least one or a plurality of respective computer processors.

Abstract: Un método de operar una primera estación base de radio en un sistema de comunicación móvil que comprende la primera estación basne de radio y un nodo de almacenamiento del registro de seguimiento, en el que la primera estación base de radio es responsable de la información intercambiada con uno o más equipos de usuario, en donde el método de operar la primera estación base de radio provoca que la información del registro de seguimiento sea suministrada al nodo de almacenamiento del registro de seguimiento, el método que comprende: llegar a ser responsable de servir a una sesión del equipo de usuario; comenzar un proceso de seguimiento de la sesión del equipo de usuario; cuando un criterio de informe de sesión ha sido satisfecho, enviar una indicación del estado de seguimiento a o alternativamente recibir la indicación del estado de seguimiento desde una segunda estación base de radio en el sistema de comunicación móvil, el método caracterizado porque la indicación del estado de seguimiento que incluye un indicador de una causa de informe de sesión y un momento de satisfacer el criterio de informe de sesión; usar el indicador de la causa de informe de sesión y el momento de satisfacer el criterio de informe de sesión para identificar un conjunto de información del registro de seguimiento almacenado en un almacenador temporal de registro; y si el conjunto de información del registro de seguimiento no está vacío, entonces suministrar el conjunto de información del registro de seguimiento al nodo de almacenamiento del registro de seguimiento.
