    Abstract: A method may include receiving, by a user equipment incapable of transmitting and receiving simultaneously, a schedule to transmit data on an uplink, detecting, by the user equipment, whether there is data to be transmitted on the uplink, and receiving, by the user equipment, during a time corresponding to the schedule, data associated with a downlink, when it is determined that there is no data to be transmitted.

    Abstract: The present invention is a method and system adapted to facilitate, between a mobile station (MS) and network, an indication of support for reduced time transmission interval (RTTI). The MS can provide a base station system (BSS) with an indication of its multislot capability within an access burst sent at the start of a contention based access. In another aspect, the MS can indicate support for a new Immediate Assignment message as the conventional Immediate Assignment message can only assign single timeslots. The present invention enables the Radio Access Network (RAN) to assign RTTI and more than one timeslot for GPRS/EDGE temporary block flows (TBFs) during an Access Grant Channel (AGCH) assignment. The method of the present invention can be implemented in a computer program product or distributed software adapted to be loaded into at least one or a plurality of memory locations and executed by at least one or a plurality of respective computer processors.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to assigning addresses to communication devices in a radio access network and notifying communication devices of scheduled uplink transmission time periods. Related methods, communication devices and control units are disclosed. A method of assigning an address to a communication device in a radio access network for use in notification of scheduled uplink transmission time periods for the communication device is provided. The method comprises assigning to the communication device an uplink state flag (USF) value. Furthermore, the method comprises assigning to the communication device an extended USF (eUSF) value. The address assigned to the communication device is a combination of the assigned USF value and the assigned eUSF value. By means of the eUSF value, the normal address range provided by the USF is extended, thereby facilitating use of more communication devices in the radio access network.

    Abstract: 598205 Disclosed is a method (110, 120) for scheduling wireless transmissions between a network node (110) and a mobile station (120). The method includes obtaining a multi slot class of a mobile station (120) and determining a downlink Temporary Block Flow configuration. Uplink timeslots are assigned to the mobile station (120) and each assigned uplink timeslot is associated with a priority value. The priority values are based on the downlink Temporary Block Flow configuration and the multi slot class of the mobile station (120). As many uplink timeslots as possible are selected, based on the obtained multi slot class of the mobile station (120), in a priority order in descending timeslot number down to timeslot number 0. The order is determined by starting from the timeslot number computed by the following algorithm: the lowest timeslot number assigned to downlink transmission plus 4 minus the number of timeslots it takes to switch from transmission to reception, maximum timeslot number 7.
