Abstract: A polarizing optical element comprises a transparent optical base element and a layered structure that incorporates a polarizing film. The polarizing film is of the dichroic dye type and is oriented uniaxially. The layered structure is bonded to the optical base element by means of a layered structure that includes at least one layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Thanks to the use of pressure-sensitive adhesive, the polarizing film during the bonding operation maintains a high polarization efficiency and an optical quality compatible with many applications of the optical element, especially ophthalmic applications.

Abstract: La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un matériau polymère transparent comprenant les étapes suivantes :i. mélanger des nanoparticules minérales et une composition A comprenant au moins un polymère thermoplastique à l'état fondu choisi parmi le polycarbonate (PC), le polystyrène (PS) et/ou le polyméthacrylate de méthyle (PMMA), pour obtenir un mélange-maître, etii. mélanger le mélange-maître, obtenu à l'étape i, à une composition B comprenant une matrice de polycarbonate thermoplastique (mPC) à l'état fondu, pour obtenir un matériau polymère transparent comprenant une quantité d'au plus 10 % en masse desdites nanoparticules minérales, de préférence d'au plus 5 % en masse desdites nanoparticules minérales.
