Abstract: The invention concerns a method which consists in a process known per se in producing, on the curved substrate ( 10 ) to be treated, a film of material derived from a specific material source ( 13 ). The invention is characterized in that it consists in inserting, between the curved substrate ( 10 ) and the material source ( 13 ), a mask ( 19 ) relative to the curved substrate ( 10 ), preferably selecting as mask ( 19 ), a mask comprising a ring-shaped part ( 20 ). The invention is particularly useful for providing lenses with antiglare treatment.

Abstract: Procedimiento para fabricar una pieza de molde que presenta una superficie curva principal que soporta una microestructura utilitaria, que comprende: a) proporcionar una pieza (1) maestra que presenta una superficie principal plana que soporta una microestructura (2) utilitaria; b) transferir dicha microestructura (2) utilitaria desde la superficie principal de la pieza maestra hasta una superficie principal de una película (5) elastomérica curada plana; c) recuperar la película (5) elastomérica curada plana que presenta una superficie (6) principal que soporta un duplicado de dicha microestructura (2) utilitaria; d) proporcionar un artículo (8) maestro que presenta una superficie (9) curva principal que va a duplicarse; e) aplicar una composición (10) de recubrimiento curable o bien: - sobre la superficie (9) curva principal del artículo (8) maestro, o -sobre la superficie (6) principal que soporta el duplicado de dicha microestructura (2) utilitaria de la película (5) elastomérica curada plana, o bien - sobre ambas superficies principales, f) colocar la superficie (6) principal que soporta el duplicado de dicha microestructura (2) utilitaria de la película (5) elastomérica curada plana y la superficie (9) curva principal del artículo (8) maestro una delante de la otra; g) prensar dicha película (5) elastomérica curada y dicho artículo (8) maestro una contra el otro de modo que se ajuste la forma global de dicha película (5) elastomérica curada a la forma curva de la superficie (9) principal del artículo (8) maestro y se extienda la composición (10) de recubrimiento curable entre la superficie (9) principal curva del artículo (8) maestro y la superficie (6) principal que soporta el duplicado de dicha microestructura (2) utilitaria de la película (5) elastomérica curada; h) curar la composición (10) de recubrimiento; i) retirar la película (5) elastomérica curada y recuperar un artículo recubierto duro que presenta una superficie (9) curva principal recubierta con un recubrimiento (10) duro que presenta una superficie (11) principal expuesta que soporta una microestructura utilitaria transferida; j) depositar una capa de un metal o una aleación (12) metálica sobre dicha superficie (11) principal expuesta del recubrimiento duro del artículo (8) maestro; y k) recuperar dicha capa de metal o aleación metálica para obtener una pieza (13) de molde que presenta una superficie (14) principal curva que soporta un duplicado de dicha microestructura utilitaria transferida.

Abstract: The application of a mark on the surface of an ophthalmic glass of the type with an external hydrophobic and/or oleophobic coating with a low surface energy on a substrate or a coating with a high surface energy comprises: (a) positioning a mask, with a configuration complementary to the desired mark, between the surface to be marked and an energizing discharge source able to eliminate the external coating to reveal the underlying substrate or high energy coating; and (b) depositing on the outer coating, a temporary protective coating having a surface energy higher than that of the external coating and a thickness of less than 5 nm in order to allow the discharge to act on the external coating across the temporary protective coating.

Abstract: A process for making a mould piece having a main curved surface bearing an utilitary microstructure which comprises transferring a utilitary microstructure from a master piece main surface to a main surface of a flat cured elastomeric film; pressing the cured elastomeric film and a master article against each other so as to conform the overall shape of said cured elastomeric film to the curved shape of the main surface of the master article and to spread over a curable coating composition between the curved main surface of the master article and the main surface bearing the replica of the said utilitary microstructure of the cured elastomeric film; curing the coating composition; removing the cured elastomeric film and depositing a layer of a metal or a metallic alloy on the exposed main surface of the hard coating of the master article; and recovering said metal or metallic alloy layer to obtain a mould piece having a curved main surface bearing a replica of said transferred utilitary microstructure.
