Abstract: A system includes prime mover structured to generate power for a mobile vehicle; a power converter structured to receive a portion of the generated power, and to provide configured electrical power to an electric heater device configured to selectively heat an exhaust fluid of the prime mover; at least one aftertreatment component positioned downstream of the electric heater device, and configured to treat at least one constituent of the exhaust fluid; and a controller, including: an operating conditions circuit structured to interpret an operating parameter of at least one of the power converter, the electric heater device, or the exhaust fluid; an aftertreatment diagnostic circuit structured to determine a component diagnostic value in response to the operating parameter; and an emissions reporting circuit structured to transmit an emissions description in response to the component diagnostic value.

Abstract: A method of operating a vehicle with a hybrid powertrain comprising an electrical drivetrain and an internal combustion engine includes detecting that a temperature of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) device of an aftertreatment system of the vehicle is below a particular temperature; directing the electrical drivetrain to fulfil a vehicle drive load; and while the electrical drivetrain is fulfilling the vehicle drive load and the temperature of the SCR device is below the particular temperature, operating the internal combustion engine to generate airflow for transport of heat through the aftertreatment system and directing a heat source to raise a temperature through the SCR device of the aftertreatment system. The internal combustion engine can be operated in idle to spin the internal combustion engine to generate the airflow while the electrical drivetrain fulfils the vehicle drive load.

Abstract: A method for controlling a transmission of a vehicle during cylinder deactivation can comprise receiving and processing a zero or negative torque requirement for the vehicle. Receiving and processing vehicle speed data can be included to determine a vehicle speed for the vehicle. A cylinder deactivation mode can be implemented for a valvetrain of a multi-cylinder engine of the vehicle, wherein the cylinder deactivation mode comprises deactivating one or more intake valve, one or more exhaust valve, and fuel injection for one or more cylinder of the multi-cylinder engine. Selecting one of an in-gear mode and a neutral mode for a transmission of the vehicle can be included while implementing the cylinder deactivation mode and while maintaining the determined vehicle speed.

The rocker arm is provided with an engine brake capsule. Various biasing assemblies are disclosed that cooperate with one of the rocker arms of which the cam follower follows an engine brake lift cam to accommodate mechanical lash.

Abstract: A rocker arm assembly constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure includes an outer rocker arm, a first inner rocker arm, and a second inner rocker arm. The main lifter can be configured as a fixed lifter or as a deactivating lifter for cylinder deactivation (CDA) configured to selectively move to a deactivated state configured to absorb motion of a normal lift profile cam into lost motion.

Abstract: A computer control network is connected to a multiple-cylinder engine and implements aftertreatment temperature management. Processors are configured to determine an aftertreatment temperature-efficient air to fuel ratio that satisfies the sensed power output request, determine an air to fuel ratio adjustment, select an in-cylinder exhaust gas recirculation technique, select at least one EGR cylinder of the multiple-cylinder engine to implement the in-cylinder exhaust gas recirculation technique, and control the intake valves to open and the exhaust valves to close for the selected at least one EGR cylinder to adjust the oxygen and particulate content of the exhaust gas by applying at least a second compression stroke of the respective reciprocating piston of the at least one EGR cylinder to the exhaust gas to push the exhaust gas through to the intake manifold.

Abstract: An engine roller lifter for use in a leak-valvetrain of an internal combustion engine includes a body, a roller and an anti-rotation plug. The body includes an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The bore is supplied oil by an oil passage communicating therewith. The body defines an opening. The roller bearing is rotatably mounted to the body and is configured for rolling contact with an engine camshaft. The anti-rotation plug is received at the opening and has a plug body including an anti-rotation protrusion that extends radially beyond an outer peripheral surface of the plug body. The anti-rotation plug can be staked into the opening of the body.
