    Abstract: An electrolyte is circulated between the surface to be machined, charged to an anodic potential, and a working electrode (9') charged to a cathodic potential. The electrolyte contains lithium nitrate as sole active element at a concentration of between 20 g/l and 2350 g/l and preferably between 50 g/l and 250 g/l. The method can be applied to machining the surface of any metallic part and especially to machining the inner surface of tubular parts (5) such as nuclear reactor vessel bottom head or head penetrations; in this case, the electrochemical machine cell consists of a cylindrical working electrode (9') placed inside the part to be machined.

Selon l'invention, ce procédé consiste à disposer de façon symétrique sur ce bras un jeu d'au moins trois sources d'éclairement (17), fournissant chacune un faisceau lumineux dirigé tangentiellement vers la périphérie d'un tube (5), à retransmettre par un ensemble optique (18) également porté par le bras, les images de trois points déterminés du tube éclairés par les sources en direction d'un moniteur vidéo dont l'écran (21) comporte trois réticules (42, 43, 44) délimitant le contour réel de ce tube, puis à faire coïncider ces images avec les réticules afin de centrer rigoureusement l'axe (28) de l'outil sur l'axe (35) dudit tube. L'invention concerne également un dispositif pour la mise en œuvre de ce procédé.
