    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simultaneously output two laser beams of independent and variable wavelength by providing two optical parametric oscillators along the optical axis of an excitation light, and controlling the rotary angle of each non-linear optical crystal. CONSTITUTION:When a wavelength selecting signal is sent out to optical parametric oscillators 24, 25 through lines l1, l2 from a wavelength selecting circuit 45, the rotary angle of rotary shafts 30 and 32, and that of 40 and 42 are controlled to a prescribed angle respectively, and a phase matching angle of a non-linear optical crystal 31, and that of a non-linear optical crystal 41 are set to theta1 and theta2, respectively. Therefore, the oscillator 24 oscillates an optical parametric by the excitation light 22 of wavelength lambdap from a laser oscillator 21, and outputs the light beam 47 of lambda1s and lambda1i. Also, the oscillator 25 uses the transmission light of wavelength lambdap contained in the light beams 47, as an excitation light, executes a parametric oscillation through a collimator lens 37, and outputs the light beams 48 of wavelength lambda2s and lambda2i corresponding to the angle theta2. Also, in the output side of a filter 26, the light beams 49 of wavelength lambda1s and lambda2s appear simultaneously.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain very quick accessing by extracting the change in a reflected light from a disk obtained through a micro lens as the stimulated change of a semiconductor laser from a photodetector. CONSTITUTION:An output light from a semiconductor laser 7 is projected onto a disk 1 via a micro lens 20 and its reflected light is returned to the laser 7 through the lens 20 and the fiber 21 again. In increasing/decreasing the returned luminous quantity depending on the state of a disk face, the excited luminous quantity of the semiconductor laser is increased/decreased and a terminal voltage is changed and a signal is detected by the self-coupling effect. A moving part integrated in a head feeder 2 is only the micro lens 2, which offers light weight and focusing/tracking control is applied by using a signal from the servo circuit 6, and the control is applied by using the wobbling method that minute vibration is applied to the projected beam to the optical disk 1 and the relation of phase between the reflected light intensity of spot and the vibration in this case is detected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To highly purify the titled crystal by using the powder of the material of a crystal to be produced to form a block, using the molten part formed by partially heating the central part of the upper surface of the block to pull the crystal, and using the unmelted part as the vessel of the molten part. CONSTITUTION:The high-m.p. substance crystal, is produced by the following three stages. Namely, the powder of the crystal to be produced is densely compressed to prepare the block 1 in the first stage, the central part of the upper surface of the block 1 is heated by a heating means to form the molten part 2 in the second stage, and the crystal 3 is pulled by using a seed crystal while keeping the molten state by the heating means in the third stage. The central part of the upper surface of the block 1 of powder is concentratedly heated to melt only the heated part, and a laser device is preferentially used as the means for maintaining the molten state.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To construct a highly sensitive and compact gyroscope with gyroscope proper equipped with an optical reflecting surface made of a circular cylinder surface on the outer periphery of a transparent optical material and with a surface on which laser in incident on and from which laser goes out a laser oscillator and a phase-difference detector. CONSTITUTION:A gyroscope proper 1 is constructed with transparent quartz and on the outside of the outer periphery of a circular cylinder, for instance, aluminium reflecting film 1a reflecting light at high efficiency is covered. Further, on the gyroscope proper 1, a clockwise incident surface 1b and a counterclockwise incident surface 1c are installed. A beam of light irradiated from the surface 1b and emitted out of the surface 1c is detected by the clockwise irradiated light detectors. The result of detection is compared with a calculator 6 and acceleration applied to the gyroscope is fed out as an output. Thus, a highly accurate and compact gyroscope can be constructed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a microchannel plate with a datum line by making the electron emission ratio of a specific area of the microchannel plate lower than that of its other area. CONSTITUTION:A datum line pattern consisting of an electron-nontransmitting film made of Au, Al or a similar element is formed on a specific area 12a of a microchannel plate 12 by vapordeposition or a similar method to make the area 12a untransparent to electrons thereby forming a datum line. Alterna tively, a bright datum line image is introduced into an image intensifier tube having a usual microchannel plate 12 to write a datum line image on the plate 12 thereby positively reducing the relative gain of the image area. When an image intensifier tube having a microchannel plate 12 which has a specific area with a reduced relative gainst used to intensify an image, the luminance of the specific area of the intensified image is lower than that of the other area.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the titled detector in size by forming a light source, incident and emitting optical pathes, an optical path for a Mach-Zehnder interferometer having branch pathes, an infrared-ray absorbing body arranged adjacently to one branch path, and a photodetector for detecting the intensity change of light from the projecting optical path. CONSTITUTION:Light radiated from a laser diode 1 is guided into an optical path 4 through an optical fiber 2. The path 4 consists of the incident path 4c, the branch pathes 4a, 4b having the same optical path length and the emitting part 4d to form the optical path of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. When the image of a heat generating part is formed on the surface of the body part by the lens, the infrared-ray absorbing body 7 absorbs infrared rays and generates heat to increase the temperature of the branch path 4a. Since an infrared ray reflecting layer 8 reflects the incident infrared rays, the temperature of the branch path 4b is not increase. Thereby, the refractive index of the branch path 4a on the lower part of the absorbing part 7 is changed and the optical path length of the branch path 4a is changed, so that interference intensity at the combined point between the branch pathes 4a, 4b is changed in accordance with the degree of the heat generation of the infrared rays and the incidence of the infrared rays is detected by detecting the change of the intensity by a detector 6.

CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with the respectively independent plural traffic lights 10, 20 and 30, controllers 11, 21 and 31 for controlling the lighting of respective signal lamps and light transmitters/receivers 12, 22 and 32 for mutually transmitting/receiving optical transmission signals are provided. Also, light receiving windows 12a, 22a and 32a for receiving the optical transmission signals and light emitting windows 12b, 22b and 32b for emitting the optical transmission signals are provided on the respective transmitters/receivers 12, 22 and 32. Then, the optical transmission signals emitted from the light emitting window 12b of the traffic light 10 are made incident on the light receiving window 22a of the adjacent traffic light 20 and the optical transmission signals emitted from the light emitting window 22b of the traffic light 20 are made incident on the light receiving window 32a of the traffic light 30. The optical transmission signals are provided with the lighting information of the respective traffic lights 10, 20 and 30 and the lighting information is successively transmitted to the adjacent traffic lights 10, 20 and 30.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable formation of a small-sized solid state laser producing device of high output by providing a first reflection mirror provided on an outer periphery of a solid state laser medium, a second reflection mirror provided in the central part and an output mirror provided on the reflection line of the second reflection mirror facing the solid state laser medium. CONSTITUTION:When excitation light from an LD array 16 is injected from a lower side of a crystal wafer 10, laser whose wavelength is different from that of excitation light is produced. The laser reflects at a first reflection mirror 13 on the outer peripheral part, passes through the crystal wafer 10 again, projects from an inner peripheral face thereof to be refracted downward at the second reflection mirror 14, and about 90% thereof reflects at an output mirror 15. The laser reflected at the output mirror 15 is reflected and refracted at the second reflection mirror 14 again and is injected to the crystal wafer 10; then, it is reflected at the outer peripheral first reflection mirror 13. Thereafter, amplification is carried out by repeating resonance by a laser resonator. All the laser oscillating in the radiation direction of the crystal wafer 10 is collected to the output mirror 15 from the second reflection mirror 14; therefore, it is output as high output laser from the output mirror 15.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductivity device whose cooling system is miniaturized by using the low-temperature-side insulator of a Peltier element as a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor 12 which can obtain Peltier effect are arrayed in series, such an N-type, P-type N-type...P-type, and the ends of adjacent semiconductors 12 are each connected with a low-temperature-side good conductor 14A and a high-temperature-side good conductor 14B to make up a Peltier element 10. An insulator 16 made of sapphire, e.g. is used for the low- temperature-side good conductor 14A of this Peltier element 10 as a substrate to make up a superconductivity device 18 such as a thin film SQUID (a highly sensitive flux detecting element). The high-temperature-side good conductor 14B of the Peltier element 10 is put in contact with a heater 22 via an insulator 20 and the insulator 16 as the substrate is directly put in contact with the low- temperature-side good conductor 14A, so that the substrate is efficiently cooled. It is thus possible to miniaturize a cooling system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To release light of a desired pattern by disposing and working an optical material at a prescribed angle with the laser light from a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:This element is provided with the semiconductor laser 1, a collimating element 2 which collimates the laser light from the semiconductor laser 1 to the collimated beams of light, and the optical material 5 which releases the prescribed light by incidence of the collimated beams of light. The incident face 6 of the optical material, i.e., a nonlinear optical crystal 5 is cut at the prescribed angle delta. The nonlinear optical crystal 5 is so disposed that the collimated beams of light from the collimating element 2 enters the incident face 6 at the prescribed angle theta. The collimated beams of light having the elliptical pattern enters the incident face 6 of the nonlinear optical crystal 5 at the incident angle theta and, therefore, the collimated beams of light can be corrected to the circular pattern and can be advanced within the nonlinear optical crystal 5. The optical element which can release the light of the desired pattern is thereby obtd.
