Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the peripheral device, which is usable as an internal and an external device without any dedicated attachment while maintaining compatibility with a conventional connecting method for external use, and a computer system. SOLUTION: For internal use, the peripheral device 130 is put in the storage part of the computer system 100 and electrically connected, and functions as part of the computer system. For external use, on the other hand, one end of a connection cable 410 is connected to the external connector 310 of the peripheral device 130 and the other end is connected to the connector 434 of the computer main body. Consequently, the peripheral device 130 which is used externally provides its function for the user as part of the computer system as well as the external use.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a keyboard assembly for computer containing a mobile keyboard pallet. CONSTITUTION: Pallets can be moved relatively to each other between a compressed housing position and an expanded actuating position. A moving mechanism moves one pallet 20 in the lateral direction against the other pallet 27, and then, the other pallet 27 in a.direction oblique to the lateral direction. The moving mechanism can be connected to the cover 16 of a computer 10 so that the movement of the pallets can be controlled automatically based on the position of the cover 16 against the base 14 of the computer 10. The pallets automatically move from the compressed housing position when the cover 16 is closed and to the expanded actuating position when the cover 16 is opened. When the cover 16 is moved to the closing position from the opening position, the pallets automatically move to the compressed housing position from the expanded actuating position.
