    Abstract: PURPOSE: To surely control the position of an object to be controlled without deteriorating the safety of a control system even when the frequency of a repeated error is high. CONSTITUTION: A digital filter 86 the gain of which becomes a peak against a frequency component in a narrow band containing a prescribed angular frequency ω0 and nearly zero against a frequency component outside the narrow band is provided to a main control section 68 which inputs a head position signal y(n) digitally indicating the size and direction of the deviation of the present position of a magnetic head from the target position of the head at every sampling period Ts and generates and outputs a motor current control signal u(n) digitally indicating the controlled variable of a motor current so that the head position signal y(n) can be inputted to the filter 86. In addition, a phase changing section 88 which outputs the signal outputted from the filter 86 by delaying the phase of the signal by 5Ts is provided to the section 68 so that the phase-delayed signal can be added to the signal u(n) through an adding point 74.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To discriminate the position of a head without error. CONSTITUTION: Data tracks 54 are formed concentrically on a magnetic disk, and identification information for identifying data tracks is recorded corresponding to the tracks on track information identification area 56. The information is formed of first and second gray code, first code has bit number of (n-1) bits (n is bit number of the track address), and each block is decided so that the values are different at each of a plurality of the blocks formed of a plurality (2 in the drawing) of the data tracks. The second code has bit number of 3 bits, being different at each adjacent data track along the radial direction of the disk, and decided at each data track to express the value circulated at each block of three (four in the drawing) series in the radial direction of the disk. The position of the head is discriminated based on the first and second codes read by the head.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To converge head positioning at a high speed by changing the gain of a control system for which an input signal value and a control signal value are state variables only at the time of switching a mode. CONSTITUTION: In response to the input signal value y (m) for indicating a difference between a present head position and a target track, the control signal value u (m) for driving a motor is outputted and a head is positioned to the target track. In the control system for which the input signal value y (m) and the control signal value u (m) are the state variables, in order to the quickly position the head to the target track, an initial value is added to the control signal value u (m) and the gain is changed only at the time of switching the mode. The initial value, a feedforward value r0, is generated by multiplying prescribed coefficients L1-L4 to the input signal value y (m) at the time of switching the mode, a signal value y (m-1) and the control signal value u (m-1) one before and the control signal value u (m-2) two before.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize stable operation within a practical range in a rotary recorder provided with a shock sensor and for obtaining a feedforward signal by adaptively processing an output of the shock sensor. SOLUTION: In this rotary recorder in which a VCM system whose transfer function is represented with G and a controller whose transfer function is represented with H configures feedback, a signals of the shock sensor S is subjected to band limitation with a bandpass filter F, and an output (feedforward control signal ff) of an adaptive filter FIR is obtained by using a signal (f) that has been subjected to band limitation. For a signal to be inputted to a parameter adaptive algorithm PAA, a signal (p) obtained by shifting the phase of the signal (f) with a phase shift filter P is used.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively and stably update feedforward quantity in the case of performing sine wave driving of head driving of a rotary recorder. SOLUTION: In this rotary recorder in which a VCM system whose transfer function is represented with G and a controller whose transfer function is represented with H configure feedback, a target position locus in each seek command is generated by using a lamp function and a composite function of a sine wave function. A sine wave component at a target position is inputted to an adaptive filter R in which a coefficient is adaptively updated to be a feedforward signal (r). A signal that has passed through a filter (1-1/z) for removing components other than the sine wave component is inputted to a parameter adaptive algorithm PAA for adaptively updating a coefficient as an input.
