    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the electrostatic discharge resistance of a device without degrading the high frequency characteristic of the device by amplifying the detection output of a magneto-resistance effect type sensor whose one end is grounded and connecting a nonlinear conductive element in between a power source voltage line supplying a power source voltage and a grounding line. SOLUTION: A varistor 30 is provided in between a power source voltage line supplying a power source voltage and a grounding line on a control substrate 20. Moreover, on the substrate 20, a capacitor 31 is provided in parrallel with the varistor 30 and, further, an inductance 32 inserted in series with the power source voltage line is provided. The varistor 30 has a capacitive component and the capacitive component, the capacitor 31 and the inductance 32 function as a low-pass filter eliminating noise being on the power source voltage line. Thus, a high frequency component being in a power source voltage to be supplied to an AE7 is reduced and they contribute to the stable operation of the AE7. Furthermore, the miniatirizing of the capacitor 31 is made possible by the capacitance of the varistor 30.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To discriminate the position of a head without error. CONSTITUTION: Data tracks 54 are formed concentrically on a magnetic disk, and identification information for identifying data tracks is recorded corresponding to the tracks on track information identification area 56. The information is formed of first and second gray code, first code has bit number of (n-1) bits (n is bit number of the track address), and each block is decided so that the values are different at each of a plurality of the blocks formed of a plurality (2 in the drawing) of the data tracks. The second code has bit number of 3 bits, being different at each adjacent data track along the radial direction of the disk, and decided at each data track to express the value circulated at each block of three (four in the drawing) series in the radial direction of the disk. The position of the head is discriminated based on the first and second codes read by the head.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk drive(HDD) capable of preventing the damage on the part where a connector pin as an outer interface and a connector are mounted and to provide a mechanism which becomes a forcible guide at the time of mounting the hard disk drive(HDD). SOLUTION: There are some cases where a male connector 20 on the hard disk drive(HDD) 10 side is erroneously inserted into a female connector 60. For instance, the case where the former is inserted into the latter in the direction as shown by the arrow 1 can be cited. Therein, by disposing a cover 80 for the female connector, it is made unable to insert the male connector 20 into the female connector 60 unless the HDD 10 is moved along an insertion guiding surface 90. Also the cover 80 for the female connector is realized as a plate-shaped protruding part 82 which leaves a prescribed distance from a pin 22 of the male connector 20. The plate-shaped protruding part 82 is endowed with a satisfactory function when the protruding part 82 is disposed within the covering range so as to include at least an end part 68 of the female connector 60 with respect to both end parts 68 of the female connector 60.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a laser drive device for increasing a switching speed easily, by providing both flow-out and flow-in constant current sources and a switching means for turning laser on or off. CONSTITUTION: A write data signal Sd and its inverted signal -Sd are inputted to the bases of transistors(Tr) 41A and 41B of a switch circuit 40. When the Tr41A is turned on and the Tr41B is turned off, a switch current Isa that flows through the Tr41A becomes equal to the flow-in current Ib of a flow-in constant current source 20, and a switch current Iab that flows through the Tr41B becomes zero. As a result, a laser current I1 becomes equal to an flow-out current Ia of a flow-out constant current source 30, thus turning on a laser 50. On the other hand, when the Tr41A is turned off and the Tr41B is turned on, the switch current Isa becomes zero and the switch current Isb becomes equal to the flow-in current Ib and the flow-out current Ia , thus setting the laser current I1 to zero and turning off the laser 50.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely unload a head slider. SOLUTION: A transistor Tr5 is made to be in ON. When a main power source Vdd is turned OFF at a time t1, transistors Tr1, Tr2 and a diode D1 are turned OFF and the level of a control signal Ret becomes higher than threshold voltages Vth of transistors Tr3, Tr4 to turn transistors Tr3, Tr4 OFF. Moreover, a capacitor C1 starts a discharge. A control signal InRet changes to 'L' level and a control signal OutRet does not change while being kept in 'L'. As a result, an IR(inner retract) driver 133aa makes the VCM(voice coil motor) current of a negative polarity flow through a voice coil 5 to preliminarily move a head arm to a direction opposite to an unload direction. Next, when it becomes a time t2 and the level of the control signal Ret becomes the level of not larger than the threshold voltages Vth, the control signals InRet and OutRet both change to 'H' and the IR driver 13aa stops the operation and an OR(outer retract) driver 13ab reverses the moving direction of the head arm by making the VCM current of a possitive polarity flow through the voice coil 5.
