Abstract: An adaptation device and method allows an efficient interconnection of data processing devices and networks. It is based on layer 2 connectivity of entities complying with various High-level Data Link Control (HDLC) protocols, including the Link Access Procedure on the D Channel (LAPD) and the Link Access Procedure Balanced (LAPB) protocols.
