Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently interconnect processors, etc., with the protocol of a layer of an LAPB type by providing an adapter with specific adaptability for mutually connecting a data processor and a network of a different kind. CONSTITUTION: The adapter 90 efficiently interconnects a network interface 93,... with the data processors 91, 92,... or network interfaces 93,... with the link layer of the LAPB form to an ISDN terminating point 94. Efficiency is realized by providing the perfect terminal-to-terminating terminal of the protocol of the layer 2 between the point 94, the processors 91, 92,... or the interfaces 93,.... First, when the adapter receives an incoming frame, FCS is recalculated to be compared with the content of the received FCS field and removed if not coinciding. If coinciding, destination informations is extracted and all the parameter and converted to send a converted frame. Then new FCS is calculated and sent by charging the FCS field.
