    Abstract: A hypermedia document display method can include presenting hypermedia content, the hypermedia content hyperlinks to additional hypermedia content; storing selected ones of the hyperlinks in a delayed viewing list; and, caching hypermedia content associated with the stored hyperlinks during the presenting step. The method can further include reconfiguring the stored hyperlinks to the point to the cached hypermedia content. The presenting step can include displaying web content in a Web browser. In that case, the Web content can contain hyperlinks to additional Web content. The presenting step also can include playing back multimedia content in a multimedia content player. Finally, the presenting step can include displaying audiovisual television content combined with hypermedia content in a television set.

The entire audio track of a recorded event in video, film, sound, etc., is analyzed to determine audio levels within a set of frequency ranges of interest. Audio clip levels within the selected frequency ranges are chosen as audio cues representative of events of interest in the track. The selection criteria are applied to the audio track of the recorded event. An Edit Decision List (EDL) is generated from the analysis of the audio track. The list is representative of scenes or sounds of interest as clips for reuse. The clips are reviewed and accepted or rejected for reuse. Once selected, the clips are edited using industry standard audio and video editing techniques.

    Abstract: A method and system for increasing ease-of-use and bandwidth utilization in a wireless device capable of accessing a communication network is disclosed. The present invention uses the wireless device to send information about the environment to a server on the communication network. In response, the wireless device receives identifiers from the server of the web sites most likely to be requested by a user of the wireless device in that environment. In a further aspect of the present invention, the wireless device may also pre-fetch contents from the identified web sites in times when bandwidth is not in use to further speed responsiveness of the device.

    Abstract: A video processing personalization system or server (VPPS) coupled to at least one source of video 17-19 and audio content and to at least one end user unit for providing a personalized perspective of a broadcast event. The VPPS includes a receiver for receiving composite video signals representing more than one than one perspective of the broadcast program. An input 350 receives signals representing a selection of at least one perspective of the broadcast program; and a transmitter presents the selected perspective or perspectives to an end user. The VPPS can be implemented at various points along the distribution route from the source to the user (viewer). As shown, video inputs 17-19 from three cameras are used to provide a composite image in store 200. According to the camera location/angle/zoom setting selected by the end user, a UPP 320-325 provides the derived image from the composite image in store 200.
