Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device, includes: a display panel that includes a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal sealed between two facing substrates and is configured to display a frame image by arranging a plurality of line images in a scanning direction; and a light source that is configured to emit light from one side surface side of the display panel. One frame period assigned to the frame image includes an image display period and a luminance correction period, and a total luminance of the display panel during the luminance correction period is increased with decreasing distance from an opposite side of the one side surface side.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, a light source unit and a control unit. The control unit sets a display area to a second transparent state in which a degree of transparency is higher than a degree of transparency of a first transparent state in a reset period. The control unit displays an image in an object area, sets a non-object area to the first transparent state and holds a non-rewrite area in the second transparent state in a rewrite period. The gate driver drives second gate lines at a second drive frequency higher than a first drive frequency at which the gate driver drives first gate lines or selectively drives the first gate lines in the rewrite period.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a light source device includes a plurality of light emitting elements including at least first and second light emitting elements, lightguide, first circuit, second circuit, and controller. The lightguide includes a first surface on which light from light emitting elements is incident and a second surface through which the light exits. The first circuit connects light emitting elements in series. The second circuit can bypass each of light emitting elements. The controller turns on light emitting elements using the first circuit if light emitting elements function normally, and if one of light emitting elements functions abnormally, the controller turns on the light emitting element functioning normally using the second circuit.

The second period is a period from a light emission timing of one or more light emission regions that emit light first to a light emission timing of one or more other light emission regions that emit light last. The light emission timing of the one or more light emission regions that emit light first is different from the light emission timing of the one or more other light emission regions that emit light last.

Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a plurality of pixels, a plurality of inorganic light-emitting elements, and a first light-shielding portion. The pixels are arrayed on the substrate. The inorganic light-emitting elements are provided corresponding to the respective pixels and each have a first side surface and a second side surface opposite to the first side surface. The first light-shielding portion is electrically coupled to the cathode of the corresponding inorganic light-emitting element and prevents output of light traveling in a direction intersecting the first side surface of the inorganic light-emitting element.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first power supply line, a second power supply line, a reset line, pixels, gate lines, control wiring lines, source lines, a first driver and a second driver. Each of the pixels includes a drive transistor, a light emitting element, a pixel switch, a storage capacitor and a reset switch. The reset switch is connected between the reset line and a gate electrode of the drive transistor, and switched between an ON state and an OFF state by a second control signal provided via a corresponding control wiring line among the control wiring lines.
