Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled composition, prepared by polymerizing specific amounts of vinyl monomers having sulfone group and hydroxyl group respectively with acrylic esters of a 1-3C and a 4-18C aliphatic alcohols respectively in a hydrophilic solvent, and neutralizing the polymerization mixture, and having improved hairdressing effect. CONSTITUTION:(A) 5-50wt% vinyl monomer, e.g. 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, containing sulfonic acid group, is copolymerized with (B) 5- 60wt% acrylic or methacrylic ester of a 1-3C aliphatic alcohol, (C) 5-60wt% acrylic or methacrylic ester of a 4-18C aliphatic alcohol and (D) 5-50wt% vinyl monomer, e.g. 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, having a hydroxyl group in a hydrophilic solvent, and the resultant polymerization mixture is then neutralized with a water-soluble basic substance to give a composition having a curl retaining power even at high temperature and humidity for a long time, good finishing feeling, and particularly suitable for an aerosol hairdressing.
