Abstract:
The present invention provides a refractory granular material composition for a self-hardening molding by acid-hardening, consisting essentially of: a refractory granular material, an acid-hardening resin-containing binder composition, an acid-containing hardener composition, and at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of (1) alcohols, (2) ether alcohols and ester shown below:wherein R1 represents a C4 to C8 straight-chain or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group or a benzyl group; R2 represents a C1 to C10 straight-chain or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group, phenyl group or a benzyl group; R3 represents an ethylene group or a propylene group; n is an integer of 1 to 12; R4 represents, phenyl group or a methyl group; and R5 is a C2 to C6 aliphatic hydrocarbon group or (R3 -O)n R2.
Abstract:
A binder composition for use in producing molds, which contains a binder obtained by the polycondensation of monomers mainly comprising furfuryl alcohol, urea and an aldehyde and wherein a difference (A-B) between the weight percentage (A) of the feed furfuryl alcohol and the weight percentage (B) of the unreacted furfuryl alcohol, both based on the binder, ranges from 5.0 to 60.0. The composition serves to accelerate the hardening of the binder without worsening the working environment.
Abstract:
A part prepared through a sheet-making process for use in producing castings which comprises an organic fiber preferably in an amount of 10 to 70 parts by weight, an inorganic fiber preferably in an amount of 1 to 80 parts by weight, and a binder preferably in an amount of 10 to 85 parts by weight. The binder is preferably an organic binder, and the organic fiber is preferably a pulp fiber.
Abstract:
A member for producing castings which is prepared by forming a base paper for a paper-jointing tube into a tubular shape and comprises an organic fiber, an inorganic fiber, and a binder. The base paper for a paper jointing tube is preferably formed into a tubular shape through winding. The contents of the organic fiber, the inorganic fiber and the binder are preferably 10 to 70 parts by weight, 1 to 80 parts by weight and 10 to 85 parts by weight, respectively. The organic fiber is preferably a pulp fiber.
Abstract:
Molding sand having a high spherical degree and a low hygroscopicity produced from powder containing Al2O3 and SiO2, as main components by a flame fusion method, from which a mold having an excellent strength and a smooth surface is produced.
Abstract:
An acid-curable, refractory particulate material composition for forming a mold which can improve the mold strength. The composition comprises a refractory particulate material, a binder composition containing an acid-curable resin, an acid-containing curing agent composition, and at least one solvent selected from among the alcohols (1): R 1 -OH, ether alcohols (2), and esters (3). In said formulas R 1 represents a straight-chain or branched aliphatic haydrocarbon group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms or a benzyl group: R 2 represents a straight-chain or branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or a phenyl or benzyl group: R 3 represents an ethylene or trimethylene group; n is an integer of 1 to 12; R 4 represents a phenyl or methyl group; and R 5 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms or -(R 3 -O)n -R 2 .
