Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the level of the reproduced output and to obtain a superior overwrite characteristic in the magnetic recording medium, in which a recording is conducted using the signals having a specific shortest recording wavelength, by specifying the thickness of the magnetic layer and the coercive force of the soft magnetic layer constituting an undercoat layer. SOLUTION: A soft magnetic layer (an undercoat layer) 2 having a 1 to 50Oe coercive force Hc is provided on a non-magnetic supporting body 1. A magnetic layer 3 having a thickness of L (Å) is provided on the layer 2. The thickness L of the layer 3 is set to 1/5 to 1/3 of a shortest recording wavelength λof the signals for a recording. Then, a protective film 4 is provided on a metallic and magnetic layer 3. If it is necessary, a lubricant layer 5 is provided. Moreover, a back coat layer 6 is provided, if so required. The layer 6 is formed by spraying the paint including carbon black and binder resin.

The vaporized metallic particle is obliquely vapor-deposited on the surface of the 1st metallic magnetic film 2a on the supporting body 1 running along a cooling can roll 13b to film-form the 2nd metallic magnetic film 2b.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high output by making a medium into a magnetic record ing medium on which a signal is recorded and of which a difference between a signal output at the time of reproducing with a same speed as of recording and that at the time of reproducing with a speed two times as fast as of record ing is reduced. SOLUTION: In a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer famed on a tape form non-magnetic substrate, it is made possible to obtain a high output especially in frequencies of 20MHz or higher, by reducing a difference between a signal output at the time of reproducing with a same speed as of recording and that at the time of reproducing with a speed two times as fast as of recording. Here, it is preferable to use a signal of a wavelength of 0.50μm or shorter at the time of measuring a difference between outputs of recording and reproducing and it is recommended to select a wavelength so that a difference between the used signal and an output is within a range of 2.0-4.5dB.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high output in high frequencies by reducing a difference of outputs between when recording/reproducing are performed in a normal running direction of a tape and when they are performed in the reverse direc tion. SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium which is deposited on a tape-form non-magnetic substrate in a vacuum and has a magnetic layer with tilted columns, permits to obtain an high output in high frequencies by reducing a difference between an output at the time of recording/reproducing in a normal running direction of a tape and that at the time of recording/reproducing in the reverse direction. Thus, a high output magnetic tape is obtainable by even a narrow track width head. Here, it is preferable to use a signal of 0.50μm or shorter as a wavelength when a high frequency signal is recorded/reproduced on/from the magnetic recording medium and an output difference is measured, and it is recommended to select a wavelength so that the difference between the used signal and an output is 3.5dB or less.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having excellent running property by using a plastic film having specific resiliency expressed by stiffness and specific film thickness as a support. SOLUTION: A magnetic layer is formed on one surface of the plastic film having N/μm stiffness per 1μm thickness and 3.0-4.5μm thickness by vacuum film-forming method and a back coat layer is formed on the opposite surface of the magnetic layer on the film. As a result, the magnetic recording medium capable of keeping excellent running property is obtained by giving the adequate stiffness to the whole magnetic recording medium without using an aramid or the like, which is higher in stiffness, but extremely expensive.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut material to be cut such as raw cloth into uniform width by providing one shaft with a plurality of thick cutting edges at specified spaces while providing the other shaft, parallel with one shaft, with a plurality of thin cutting edges at specified spaces, and forming intake holes in the thick cutting edges to suck the material to be cut. SOLUTION: A shaft 2 is provided with a plurality of thin cutting edges 1 at specified spaces, and a shaft 4 parallel with the shaft 2 is provided with a plurality of thick cutting edges 3 at the equal pitch to the thin cutting edges 1 so that the cutting edges 1, 3 are arranged in the contact state of the mutual side edge parts of the thin cutting edges 1 and thick cutting edges 3. The shaft 2 and the shaft 4 are rotated respectively retrorse at constant speed to cut raw cloth into specified width. In this case, intake holes 5 leading to internal space of the shaft 4 from the outer peripheral surface side are formed in the thick cutting edges 3. Air around the thick cutting edges 3 is sucked into the internal space of the shaft 4 from the intake holes 5 to suck the raw cloth to the surface of the thick cutting edges 3, and the sucked air is blown off between the raw cloth and the thick cutting edges 3 from an air nozzle 9 to separate the raw cloth easily from the thick cutting edges 3.
