    Abstract: A polyvalent metal salt of 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide (Mept compound) is dispersed in water by aid of a specific dispersant selected from the group consisting of (A), (B) and (C):(A) A polyglycol/polyamine condensation polymer, polyglycol/ polyamine/alkylamine condensation polymer or alkyleneamine condensation polymer;(B) At least one water-soluble polymer compound selected from the group consisting of hydroxyalkylcelluloses and partly quaternarized products thereof, and at least one non-ionic surfactant;(C) At least one cationic polymer compound and at least one inorganic salt.The resulting suspension has improved stability and is applicable to shampooes, hair rinses and the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled dispersion having extreme stability under ordinary preservation condition, improved salt resistance, being restored to the original state when it is melted even if it is frozen, obtained by dispersing a metal salt of 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide into water by the use of a specific high polymer compound. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion containing (A) a metal salt of 2-mercaptopyridine- N-oxide, such as salt of Zn, Ca, Fe, Hg, Sb, etc. (preferably Za salt), and (B) a polyglycol/polyamine condensed resin (polyglycol/polyamine/alkyl or alkyleneamine condensed resin). The dispersion is blended in such a way that the amount of A is 0.0015-60wt%, especially 0.1-50wt%, the amount of B is an amount to give a weight ratio of the component A/B of 1/0.01-1/10, especially 1/0.01-1/5, and the rest is preferably water or lower alcohol-water. A hair treatment base is uniformly blended with the above-mentioned dispersion of antimicrobial agent while stirring to give a hair treatment wherein the component A is kept in a stabilized dispersion state.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain a hair rinse agent composition capable of uniformly applying to hair by combining a cationic surfactant with a specific component so that almost portion of a rinse component can be separated from a water phase when diluted with water. SOLUTION: This hair rinse agent composition is obtained by combining (A) 1-15wt.% cationic surfactant with (B) 1-20wt.% higher alcohol, (C) 30-98wt.% organic solvent soluble in water and contains =98wt.% rinse component is separated from water phase, when the composition is diluted into >=1.8 times by water. Further, an oily component which is insoluble to water or slightly soluble to water may be added to the system. A compound of formula I or II [R is an alkyl, etc.; R is H, methyl, etc.; R and R are H, methyl or ethyl; R is an alkylene; A is a halogen or an organic anion; (n) is 1-10] is used as the component A. The rinse agent composition has high rinse effect and is excellent in feeling to users and persistency of effect.
