A storage unit in an image processing device receives first viewpoint video data, from among the data about the two viewpoints, and uses the first viewpoint video data to generate monoscopic video. Then, after the first viewpoint video data has been stored and second viewpoint video data corresponding to the first viewpoint video data has subsequently been received, stereoscopic video can be generated and displayed by synthesising the first viewpoint video data and the second viewpoint video data.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing enhanced media data in a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) system is provided. The apparatus for processing enhanced media data includes: a base layer processing unit configured to multiplex an elementary stream of a base layer and perform channel encoding for the multiplexed elementary stream of the base layer; an enhancement layer processing unit configured to synchronize an elementary stream of an enhancement layer with the elementary stream of the base layer and thereby multiplex the elementary stream of the enhancement layer and process the elementary stream of the enhancement layer to be transmittable via at least one of a plurality of transmission channels; and a synchronizer configured to provide the enhancement layer processing unit with synchronization information that is used for synchronizing the elementary stream of the enhancement layer with the elementary stream of the base layer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An error-correction code method using layer modulation and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable variable control of error-correction code rate using layer modulation. CONSTITUTION: An interface unit(310) is input with transmitted-data. The first forward error correction encoder(320) produces first parity bits for forward error correction of the transmitted data by the application of first forward error correction code. A second forward error correction encoder(330) produces second parity bits by applying second forward error correction codes on the transmitted data or the first parity bits. A layer modulator(340) modulates the transmitted-data and the first parity bits into an HP stream. The layer modulator modulates the second parity bits into an LP(Low Priority) stream.
