    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a crossover plane integrated optical system on a wafer scale with a high array degree and a crossover plane integrated optical system which can reduce the path difference of a light signal generated between a straight connection and a cross connection on the basis of the plane integration technology of an optical system making good use of lithography technology for electronic integrated circuit manufacture. CONSTITUTION: This system includes a plane mirror 17 for light reflection and a lower optical substrate 1a for the transmission of an input light signal which is formed on the plane mirror 17, a polarization beam splitter 14 which is formed at the center part of the surface of the lower optical substrate 1a and splits the input light signal into two, and an upper optical substrate 1b which is formed on the surface of the lower optical substrate 1a and polarization beam splitter 14. The upper optical substrate 1b includes an acute prism (Prism) 13 formed above the polarization beam splitter 14, two lenses 12 and 15 which are formed on both the sides of the acute prism 13, and an input end 11 and an output end 16 which are arranges outside two lenses 12 and 15 respectively.
