Abstract: A system and method for providing improved teleservice messaging to a mobi le station in a wireless communication network are disclosed. In preferred embodiments, an indication is provided to a network sending entity of the maximum teleservice payload size that can be sent by the network sending entity to the mobile station vi a network receiving entities serving the mobile station. The payload size indication i s utilized by the network sending entity to format the size of teleservice messages sent b y the network sending entity to the mobile station via the network receiving entities.

Abstract: A telecommunications network and method for conveying measurement information for multiple pilots of a candidate frequency, providing interoperability between a plurality of telecommunications systems. The telecommunications network includes a plurality of telecommunications systems having a pluralit y of mobile switching centers(MSCs), a plurality of base stations (BSs), and a plurality of mobile stations (MSs). The plurality of MSCs utilize an inter-system havi ng one of more signaling messages which include a constructor parameter capable of conveying information for multiple pilots of a candidate frequency.
