    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for providing a maximum long distance service payload size to a long-distance service message transmission in order to evade re-division and transmission re-delay concerning a long distance service message in a radio communication network. SOLUTION: IN the suitable embodiment of this invention, the indication of the maximum long-distance service payload size which is transmitted from a network transmission entity to a mobile station via a network reception entity for serving the mobile station is provided to the network transmission entity. The payload size indication is used in the network transmission entity, so that the size of the long-distance service message transmitted from the network transmission entity to the mobile station via the network reception entity is formated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of transmitting a displayable message to a short message element through a communication network with two or more data packages. SOLUTION: In this communication system, the capacity of the communication network is discriminated by a capacitor discriminator 206. Based on the capacity of the communication network, the displayable message is divided into fragments not exceeding the capacity of the communication network through an application protocol layer by a fragmentater 204. These fragments are collected into packages by a packager 208. These packets are operated to be separately transmitted through the communication network by short message service. These packages can contain the position reference parameters of fragments. Further, a reference parameter expressing the whole size of the message can be contained. When all the fragments of the message are received at the terminal side short message element, a fragment retriever retrieves these fragments. A message restorer restores the displayable message. That message is continuously sent to a processor.
