    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hydraulic pressure control device of a belt type continuously variable transmission which is capable of rapidly and surely returning the speed change ratio to LOW without causing any inconveniences such as the shortage of the working oil at various parts of the hydraulic system when the brake is applied for deceleration. CONSTITUTION:The target value of the line pressure of the hydraulic mechanism FS is set to the minimum pressure where no belt slip is caused between a V-belt 33 and pulleys 31, 3 by means of a control unit CU in the normal operation, the pump loss is reduced, and the fuel consumption is improved. On the other hand, the target value of the line pressure is set to the pressure value where the supplyable flow rate is equal to the flow rate to require the speed change by means of the control unit CU when the brake is applied for deceleration, and the speed-changing speed is maximized while the sufficient amount of working oil being supplied to various parts except the line pressure control requiring the working oil, leading to smooth re-acceleration after deceleration braking and smooth re-starting.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hydraulic transmission capable of preventing the oil pressure leaked on the inner periphery side of the inner rotor of an oil pump from being applied to a torque converter. CONSTITUTION:A torque converter 7 having a lockup clutch 17 and a belt type continuously variable transmission having a single-chamber type pulley hydraulic chamber are provided on a hydraulic transmission CT, and an oil pump 19 is arranged around a turbine shaft 6. The inner rotor 55 of an oil pump 19 is rotatively driven by a pump shell 49 via a connecting member 18. The gap between the connecting member 18 and the extension section 48 of an oil pump cover 52 is sealed by the second seal member 68, the oil pressure in a space section 66 near the inner periphery of the inner rotor 55 is released to the second lubricant passage 63 through a communication path 67, and the oil pressure in the space section 66 is prevented from being applied to the torque converter 7.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the extent of noise for improvements in by setting a shift characteristic in a driving area, where the interlocking frequency of a belt to a pulley is almost congruous to the pulley's natural vibro-frequency, so as to traverse the driving area at the shortest time at a time when engine load is kept in constant. CONSTITUTION:Interlocking frequency in a belt 20 to a primary 21 serves as a function between rotational frequency Np of a primary shaft 22 and another rotational frequency Ns of a secondary shaft 32. Accordingly, the interlocking frequency in the belt 20 is set down to a constant value, and thereby an area, where this interlocking frequency is congruous to the pulley's natural vibro- frequency, canes to an area Q between two curves K1 and K2. Since an engine noise goes down at time of deceleration throttled, a noise being produced out of a belt driving mechanism D is liable to be hard. So, in order to traverse the area Q at the shortest time at time of deceleration at throttle opening zero, a shift characteristic is changed so as to make a decelerating line of this throttle opening zero orthogonal with the area Q.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To restrain pulsation generated in control source pressure by controlling a plurality of duty solenoids in such a way as to give different timing for each solenoid in the same drive cycle. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 78 calculates the duty ratio of electromagnetic solenoids 51 to 53, according to signals from a shift position sensor 82, primary speed sensor 83, a secondary pulley speed sensor 84, an engine speed sensor 85, and a throttle opening sensor 86 respectively in a secondary pressure (belt tension) control part 79, a gear ratio control part 80 and a lockup control part 81. Furthermore, duty signals (f) to (h) from each of duty signal generation circuits 87 to 89 is made different from each other in timing of a rise in a delay circuit 90 and outputted to electromagnetic solenoid valves 51 to 53 via corresponding drive circuits 91 to 93. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to restrain the pulsation of control source pressure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform the mixing of an air-fuel mixture so efficiently, by according a fuel injection direction of a fuel injection valve, whose nozzle hole is installed as more deviated than the longitudinal axis, with a suction low direction of a suction passage irrespective of low and high load occasions in an engine. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 12 is set up in an upper part of a swirl control valve 11 in a suction passage 10. In this case, this fuel injection valve 12 installs a nozzle hole 12a extending in the direction deviated more than the longitudinal axis l at the tip part. And, the nozzle hole 12a is initially set to a position where fuel injection is performed toward an opening part 13a at the downstream end of a bypass passage 13 in advance, while the tip part is supported free of rotation centering on the longitudinal axis l via a seal member 20. With this constitution, at the time of medium and high load, the fuel injection valve 12 is rotatively controlled, and a fuel injection direction from the nozzle hole 12a is gradually shifted to the side of a second suction port 3b according to an increase in opening of the said valve 11.

Thus, the target line pressure expects the value in advance of the time period Th of the delay in responsiveness of the hydraulic mechanism FS, the delay in responsiveness of the hydraulic mechanism FS is compensated, and the accuracy of the line pressure control is improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of discharge oil of an oil pump into an oil chamber of a torque converter by discharging the discharge oil of the oil pump to a suction port through an oil passage opened at a slide contact part in the middle of a discharge port and a communication path and opened at the suction port. CONSTITUTION:At a pump cover 82, a recess part 82b as a suction port of an oil pump 8, a recess part 82c as a discharge port, a ring groove 82d and a branch groove 82e are formed in the relation of surface symmetry with recess parts 81b and 81c of a pump housing 18, grooves 81d and 81e. On the face of an inner rotor 85 in contact with the pump cover 82, a ring groove 85d' overlapping the ring groove 82d is formed. A high-pressure working oil to leak from a clearance formed on a slide contact face between a stator shaft 27 and a cylindrical part 22b of a pump shell into an oil chamber of a torque converter 2 is caught at a ring shaped oil passage formed by the ring grooves 81d and 85d and led to the low-pressure recess part 81b as a suction port through a radial oil passage formed by the radial groove 81e.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce any driving loss of pumps on the whole by providing two pumps consisting of an operating pressure pump for supplying operating pressure to hydraulic actuators and a control pressure pump for supplying control pressure to control valve. CONSTITUTION:There are provided with two pumps, that is, a large capacity operating pressure pump 81 for supplying oil to obtain operating pressure to be fed to the hydraulic cylinders 414, 424 of a primary and a secondary pulleys, and a control pressure pump 150 for supplying oil to obtain control pressure acting upon control valves 82, 85, 88, 89. With this constitution, in the circumstances where only low operating pressure is required to be fed to the hydraulic cylinders 414, 424, the pressure of a large quantity of oil fed from the large capacity operating pressure pump 81 can be controlled to this low operating pressure. Accordingly, even though a driving loss on the small capacity control pressure pump 150 is increased by that portion, the driving loss of the pumps on the whole can be reduced because of reduced driving loss of the large capacity operating pressure pump 81 by a large degree.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To smoothen the transfer between a fixed slip area and a complete lockup area by setting a variable slip area with a rotating speed width of a determined rotating speed difference or more in the intermediate area of a target primary engine speed between both the areas. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 51 sets a target primary rotating speed from the change gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission calculated from a velocity sensor 52 and a primary rotation sensor 56 and the throttle opening, shift position, and engine speed detected by sensors 53-55, and conducts shift control on the basis of the difference from an actual value. The lockup clutch of a fluid coupling controls a lockup valve 42 in such a manner as to form a determined rotating speed difference in a fixed slip area on low rotation side, and a direct-coupled state in a complete lockup area on high rotation side. In the transfer from the fixed slip area to the complete lockup area, the lockup valve 42 is controlled to gradually reduce the rotating speed difference in the intermediate variable slip area. Hence, the transfer to the complete lockup area can be smoothly conducted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the pulsation liable to occur at the center of the duty by changing and controlling the drive frequency of a duty solenoid controlling the pilot pressure of a control valve based on the duty ratio. CONSTITUTION:The pilot pressure of the control valve of a hydraulic circuit is controlled by a duty solenoid, and the control valve feeds the oil pressure in response to the duty ratio to the friction coupling element of a transmission to perform the preset shift. In this case, a change control means changes and controls the drive frequency of the duty solenoid based on the duty ratio in response to the shift ratio and the discharge quantity of an oil pump. The pulsation liable to occur at the center of the duty is satisfactorily reduced, the drive frequency is increased even when the pump discharge quantity is large, thereby the pulsation can be reduced.
