    Abstract: PURPOSE:To direct, once in the forward, a second exhaust pipe connected to the cylinder line provided behind a vehicle, bend and lead the exhaust pipe into a recessed part, and bend the exhaust pipe again in U shape in the recessed part to guide it backward, then combine the second exhaust pipe with a first exhaust pipe at a part of an engine behind the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A first exhaust pipe 24 connected to the cylinder line A provided on the vehicle front side of a horizontally mounted V type engine 12, is guided backward passing a recessed part 32 formed on the bottom part of an oil pan 30. The length of a second exhaust pipe 28 is ensured sufficiently by bend- forming the second exhaust pipe 28 in U shape, so that the first exhaust pipe 24 can be formed in a length similar to that of the second exhaust pipe 28, and both exhaust resistances can be equalized. The length of respective exhaust pipes are set large by combining together the first and second exhaust pipes 24, 28 behind the engine 12, so that it is possible to prevent interference of exhaust flow.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an engine stall while suppressing the racing, in cranking, by providing a compensating means for controlling an adjusting means in a manner to increase an air intake quantity in operating of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition signal is turned on, an engine 1 is started by a control unit 8. Then, in the case that the switch of the air conditioner is kept to be on and an engine speed is under the speed in the perfect explosion, an air conditioning compensation value alpha determined by an engine temperature is added to a fixed duty value DTW previously set to be the desired speed in idling, thus a three-way valve 6 is driven. And, a negative pressure corresponding to DTW+alpha is introduced to a negative pressure type actuator 4 so as to increase an air intake quantity in proportional to that in non-operating of the air conditioner by a throttle valve 3, then being supplied to the engine 1. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the generation of starting errors and engine stalls while suppressing the racing of the engine speed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate valve noise effect and detect accurately possible existence of knocking, by installing a knock sensor onto a particular cylinder causing more vigorous knocking than other cylinders. CONSTITUTION:By a slight increase of compression ratio, the cylinder 1a is made more susceptible to knocking as compared with other cylinders 1b-1d. A knock sensor 2 is fixed in a position of the cylinder 1a where valve noise generated in other cylinders affect, less and thus, a knocking level of cylinder 1a is detected and body vibration, etc. is cut by a filter P1 and electric noise is cut by the gate- I P2 and an output of crank angle detecting circuit P5 is delivered as input to the gate-II P4 and the valve noise is cut with a timing corresponding to suction and exhaust valve timing of the cylinder 1a. By judging knocking condition with a comparator P7, the data is delivered to an ignition time controlling circuit P9. Only a successful elimination of knocking in the cylinder 1a leads to positive elimination of knocking in other cylinders 1b-1d.
