    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically adjust the position relation of an original platen and a photoelectric transducer group by irradiating a reference object, with illumination light, having 1st and 2nd reference images at 1st and 2nd distances respectively away from the 1st and 2nd base ends of the platen in main scanning and subscanning directions while placing it on the pedestal and reading it with the photoelectric transducer group arranged at a prescribed position. SOLUTION: There is the danger that the position relation of a home position at an original scanning part and a reference position on contact glass is different for each device. Therefore, a correction value concerning the position relation is automatically obtained and stored while using a reference original 20 and based on this correction value, the read control of an original is performed. On the reference original 20, 1st and 2nd images 20a and 20b having width L1 and D1 are described at the distances L2 and D2 away from respective sides just. Thus, the position relation between the home position of the original scanning part and the reference position on the contact glass is automatically adjusted.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation correction curve preparing method which is capable of automatically preparing a gradation correction curve in a simple processing in short time. SOLUTION: Based on the output result when a prescribed test image is outputted, plural candidate points to take on a gradation correction curve are calculated. For these candidate points, a reverse rotation correction to correct the reverse rotation of the size relation of input image data and the size relation of output image data is performed (S81). Further, the space between the candidate points are interpolated by a straight line and a quadratic curve, etc., (S82), the curve after the interpolation is corrected to a monotoneous increase curve (S83). Further, the rapid change of the inclination in a high gradation area part is mitigated (S84). The correction for the monotoneous increase curve is performed (S85). Lastly, the portion where the inclination is rapidly changed in the curve is changed to a smooth curve (S 86), and a gradation correction curve is completed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To decide accurately a dot area by reading binarized image data obliquely at a prescribed angle over lines so as to read dots accurately. CONSTITUTION: A pre-processing section 22 of a dot area decision section 21 applies processing such as smoothing, edge emphasis and binarization to color image data from a line memory. A data retrieval section 23 reads obliquely the binary data over lines at an angle depending on a color of dots and detects white black pair width based on the picture element of the noted picture element and the surrounding picture elements and retrieves a white area width and a black area width. A dot discrimination section 24 makes a synthetic judgement on whether or not the noted picture element is a picture element of a dot area based on the retrieval result.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce a memory scale more in comparison with a conventional device needing image data by plural lines. CONSTITUTION: When a noted picture element is detected to be a peak picture element, the noted picture element PEAK1 is stored in a PEAK1 storage section 64. When other noted picture element is detected to be a dip picture element, the noted picture element DIP1 is stored in a DIP1 storage section 65. Similarly a noted picture element PEAK2 and a DIP2 detected as the peak picture element and the dip picture element are stored respectively in a PEAK2 storage section 66 and a DIP2 storage section 67 respectively. Then a distance PL between the PEAK1 and PEAK2 and a distance DL between the DIP1 and DIP2 are obtained and a difference between the distance PL and the distance DL is obtained. When the difference is discriminated to be below an A picture element, all the picture elements from the PEAK1 to the DIP2 are decided to be in a dot area. Since whether or not a dot area is decided based on the similarity in the appearance of the peak/dip picture elements, the quantity of data is enough to be one line of image data.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To exchange an image sensor only and to reduce the maintenance cost of it by fixing a thin plate preventing an original from being collided with an upper end section of the image sensor to an original guide plate. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular recessed section 102b is formed in the upstream end section of a carrying direction K of an opening P9b provided on an original guide plate 102 and one part of a 'Lumirror(R)' 120 is affixed on the recessed section 102b. The 'Lumirror(R)' 120 guides the original from the upstream side in the carrying direction of the image sensor 109 to the upper surface of a contact glass 109d with it stretching over the upstream side in the carrying direction of a contact glass 109b of the image sensor 109 and the recessed section 102b so as to prevent the original from being collided with the upper end section 109g at the upstream side in the carrying direction of the contact glass 109d of the image sensor 109. The 'Lumirror(R)' 120 is fixed at the position high enough to prevent the collision between the end section 120a on the upstream in the carrier direction of the 'Lumirror(R)' 120 and the original.

CONSTITUTION:A separating member 117 provided between a paper sheet conveying means 108 and a separating paper feeding means 107 composes a guide means to guide paper sheets so as to prevent a slippage of a separating member 107b slipping to the upper side from the separating direction by the paper sheets extended between the paper sheet conveying means 108 and the separating paper feeding means 107. As a result, since the influence of a tensile force to the separating member 107b when the tensile force is generated to the paper sheets can be eliminated by the separating member 117, the springing-up of the separating member 107b can be blocked. Consequently, a double feeding of paper sheets by the springing-up of the separating member 107b can be prevented. Furthermore, a projection 111 for guide provided downstream of the separating member 117 can be used for a guide means concurrently.

CONSTITUTION:A spring member 10 is attached to a suitable position between a fixed side and a pad holder 3 top surface in a condition to exert a restoration force in the direction having a component normal to the rotary axis 12 and parallel to the pad 3 top surface. With the restoration force of the spring member 10, the pad holder 3 is rotated the press a friction pad 2 provided on the holder 3 against the paper sheet feed roller 1 surface. Arranging the spring member 10 in this way, the space above the pad holder 3 is saved.

The original 80 is thereby surely and easily imposed in a prescribed state to the prescribed position on the original platen 51.

And the paper P sent one by one are conducted through a space 59 between a feed roller 52 and a driven roller 53 and transferred through a guide section 55 until abutting against a regist roller 41. And since the leading end of papers abuts against a roller 41, the paper travels along the whole surface of an outer guide plate 56 to move the roller 53 with the firmness of the paper P and prevent the occurrence of jam without generating a transfer force even if the roller 52 is rotated. Thereafter, when the transfer of the paper P is started by the roller 41, the paper P is pressed firmly between the rollers 53, 52 along an inner guide member 57 to be transferred by the roller 52.
